I have never owned a single Final Fantasy game, no single game of the series has ever appealed to me really. But of course I am going to get FF13 just because it looks so good. I have played some of the games at a friends house, but not for very long.
I played the original FF1 on NES a long time ago. Now I have FF7, 8, 9, 10, X-2, 12, Tactics, and Anthology...and I think one more older one... It's just a matter of preference. FF7 was a lot of fun, so I got 8 and 9 which weren't as good. 10 had much better graphics and cinematics in FF games are unreal.
I've playing every single offline on the Playstation consoles. (Even 1-6) They are all the greatest games in the world. There is only 3 games in the entire world that beat it in popularity. (Pokemon & two others) The Sims actually comes after FF :3. Only FPS/Madden lovers don't have it.
Signs of 'I don't like hard/long games' or 'not having patience' usually turns them away. But that tends to happen with close minded people. They can't delve into the individual worlds created for FF, so they can't get into the games. (Starting to play RPGs when you're much younger is a lot more beneficial) - Ignore the guy that 'hates it with pation', just a typical person following the opposite trends. (Like how everyone wanted a myspace account, but not it's cool to delete them??)
I owned FF7 back when it first came out but that was only because I had to see what the hype was about. I didn't even make it through the first disc before I decided it wasn't for me. I just don't seem to have the attention span for turn-based RPGs. The same can be said about stealth games like Metal Gear Solid. I'm not knocking either type of game as there is a huge audience for both genres, but they're just not for me.
I bought FF VII, and lost it. I bought FF VIII, and lost it. I bought FF IX, and lost it. I bought FF X, and lost it.
Seriously.
I didn't bother getting FF XII, since the semi-auto mmorpg combat really turned me off, but i look forward to getting FF XIII. I hope the guys aren't more feminine than the girls this time. I look more forward to getting star ocean IV, since SO3 was so much fun to play.
I don't own a FF game but I have played FF7 for PS, I almost cleared it and it was a very great game. But i'm not a very big fan of these kind of games.
I own FF7 through 12 except 11 because I'm not into mmoprgs. I have FFTactics for GB Advance and FF2 on SNES. I plan on getting FF Tactics for the PSP this month.
I've never even played a FF game for more that a few mins. let alone own one. I'm debating whether to get into the series...Which is the best to start off at and is noob friendly? I have a PSP btw.
I have played FF 3,7,8,9 but then I never bought PS2... so I've missed FFX, X-2, X12... Now I own PS3 and thinking of buying those FF games that I've missed. :)
I've played every FF created, and I own FF 3,5,6,7,10,12. I buy it for the really good stories (12 was a little short story wise) and music. I'm really looking forward to FF13, and FFv13 :D

i was thinking about getting the gba 5 ,6 and ds 3 and 4...but too much money is going to getting me disgaea for the psp, haze, uncharted, a hd tv to get my ps3 off of my SD tv...no money for the old FFs that i probably wouldnt play though.
I have never liked the combat system in the FF games, though the storylines are great, especially FFVII. But because of the combat system, I have stayed away from those games.

I've rented FFX, and borrowed FFVII, but couldnt get into either of them. I really like RPG's, Final Fantasy just has no appeal to me, weird characters, bad story, turn based, random monster battles, etc.
I have never really been a fan of JRPGs especially if they have turned based or menu based combat. The characters just seem cliche and the battle systems of older FF games don't excite me. I'd love to try FF13 though just to see what the fuss is all about and bc they will use a real-time combat system. Plus it doesn't hurt that it looks gorgeous and that FF games are separate universes. I don't own one now but I will try one in the future.
