How many years of life stay for PS3?

if you tried you can get 10 years out of it

Sony said they have a 10 year plan for the PS3, And they have only just came out with the PS Move so it looks like they will be supporting it for the10 years or more.

So don't worry and buy one if your planning too.

Sony said they want to extend the PS3's life cycle to 10 years so I would say it has until 2014-2015 (maybe) until we see the Playstation 4. I hope the PS3 last a few more years. We still yet to get Final Fantasy Versus XIII!!! Also, if they don't extend the PS3's lifespan then I'm really not looking foward to waiting another 10,000 years for Square-Enix to make Kingdom Hearts III on the PS4. :(

If i interpret your question right..I don't see the PS4 coming out for another 4-5 years, but i expect games to still be made for the ps3 for atleast another 5-7 years, so in my opionion it is deffiantly worth it and now is proberbly the best time to buy one.

5 more years at least and I just purchased a PS3 Slim last week because I know it will be around for a while. Plus, I am not trying to buy any launch consoles next gen because my old launch PS2 broke within a year and my launch 360 RROD repetively after a year and a half.

Buy now you will not regret it.

I highly doubt that. The 360 might be trying to prolong it's life with Kinect, but that will fail and they will be forced to put out a new system. And even with the high failure rate, the 360 is still ahead of PS3 (not by much, and not forever) but what you can see from that is people will buy whatever is newand invest themselves in one system until something new comes along.

As soon as Microsoft comes out with a new system...Sony and Nintendo will be right around the corner, unless they come out with something first.

PS1-PS2 was 5 years

PS2-PS3 was 6 years...

According to this trend, I would say PS4 will hit around 2013(someone needs to make me leave the forums if this turns out not to be true :). If Microsoftdoesn'tannouce something atE3 next year, it will probably be the year after that, and then soon after, the other two will bust out some new consoles.

As to the TC: Your question is worded strangely to me, but I gather you are asking about the lifespan of PS3. Minus my launch 60gb I have had a great experience with PS3 and would highly recommend it. Even if they come out with a new system tomorrow, PS3 will be around for at least another 6 years, and I'm sure you will still have ause for it even beyond that point,
