I used to make no effort to get trophy's but more recently have become more interested in trying to get them. I would never buy games with easy trophy's just to get more and still have only one platinum trophy but I can't deny that it is gratifying to get a trophy you have been working towards for a while.

So how far do you go to get more trophy's?

If I enjoy playing the game, I'll try going for the trophies if I think it seems like a fun challenge. Other than that, don't care at all.

dont care too much about them, i do hunt for them, but not that big of deal for me.....i only get trophies once i play the game twice without looking or caring for trophies, and only plat games i love and keep going back to. besides most of the trophies i get is by playing the game normally, what i mean is by just playing it the way i want without hunting for anything. most of the time i get about 72% of the list before i actually go hunting lol.

I agree with what you said. I too use to make little effort in the way of trophy hunting, but as of late I have become much more of a hunter. And I would never just buy an easy game or game I didn't plan on purchasing in the first place just for the trophies. I view most trophies as a way to extend and flesh out the experience of games I already enjoy, although some can be a pain, I enjoy most of them.

I used to go for them, but not anymore. I have no desire to punish myself on the highest difficulty just for a virtual prize that brings me nothing and may not even be on the next Playstation anyways.

All that extra time I spent getting them I could have been playing other games and enjoying them. Hence why I'm just now getting around to AC2 and Batman AA

I've never gone out of my way to get trophies, if I happen to get one while playing a game then cool but ultimately it means nothing to me... I play far too many games to worry about trophy hunting, just don't have the time or interest.

I care zero about trophies. I play games for fun, and seems like every game has some trophies that are not fun.

If I get them, that's fine, if I don't that is fine too. As for getting a plat, I do have some, but those were for games that I really loved, or I was just enthralled in the game world.

They are cool, but I only try to platinum easy games (from my library, not searching easy games) or the games I really like.

I used to collect them and aim at 100%. But now that I can barely get any time to play games, I stopped even checking them.

Not one tiny little bit. I AVOID them, if I can. I consider it to be intrusive to the immersion, and nothing more than a Pavlovian replacement for unlockables or "New-Game-Plus"...

... "Here, play the game again, we'll ring a little bell for you to simulate actual reward, while not ACTUALLY bestowing ANYTHING upon you for your dedication" ...

Feh. Gimme a BREAK.

Do as you wish fellow gamers, but for me, trophies are lazy replacements for ingenuity and creativity by the devs to keep the audience involved.

I like them. I'm not trying to platinum all my games or anything, but if there's one in reach or that I can legitimately get, I'll try and do so.

I don't care about them. I simply don't have that kind of time to dedicate to a game to try to get all of them. If I randomly get them through my playthroughs, then yay, but if not, I'll live.

I've had a ps3 before trophies came around, and when they did, I thought that they would never catch on..... how wrong I was. I usually don't care about trophies unless it''s for a game I truly enjoy, or if the platinum gives a reward (uncharted 2 gives you a bad@ss looking multiplayer skin, and trophies gave you multiplayer cash) or is simply for completing the game/collecting all the stuff (like Demon's Souls)

Sometimes I get a "completionist" streak and go for 100%, usually if I like the game or of I"m close enough that I might as well go for it. Other times I don't just don't care, especially if I feel I'm "done" with the game as far as having fun, I won't bother with the trophies.

I try to go for all trophies in a game if it seems reachable. I've enjoyed collecting them, and have at times gone a little crazy with the games I've played to earn trophies, but I don't mind renting a game just for the trophies that I end up enjoying.

This is why I think some trophy's can be good for a game. If a trophy encourages you to try and play different ways and to explore all aspects of the game (such as little side games/puzzles) then ultimately you are getting the most you can out of that game and get to see all the content the developers wanted you to.

At first it was fun, hearing that trophy sound. But after a while it does take away from the fun you're supposed to have in a game.

I have 152 trophy's only because I have a lot of games for PS3. But I really cannot say I really care about getting them. If it happens great if not I don't worry about it.

They're kinda pointless to me except maybe to add some replay to the game and for bragging rights. I've tried doing the trophy thing, but it makes the game kinda boring imo.

I enjoy them in moderation, If the game is fun to me I'll explore the trophy options. However, I really don't put much emphasis on hunting them for various reasons.

I hate online trophies for example and generally majority of the games require to much of my family time to even remotely consider trying to platinum any of them. I find most of them boring, repetitive and just plain excuses to make very shallow or short game seem better.

I still haven't even gotten my first Platinum yet and I could care less. I play games for fun, trophies come along with that. :)

Trophies give me something to aim for if I believe it isn't too demanding to get. I won't bother it is too challenging. It gives me reason to explore in some games, especially for collectible trophies.

I like getting trophies, and at one time I was going mental for them, but since I hit 1000 trophies I just dont carre anymore. I like getting them, but i'm not going to go out of my way for them anymore. True son of the emperor on Space Marine killed it for me. I had to get 40,000 kills for that and that ended up just grinding for it. I'm glad I got it. Its the trophy I'm most proud of but meh.

If I was honest I'd like to get more but my skills arent up to it. My reactions are a lot slower than they used to be and my brain just doesn't react quickly enough anymore to changing situations. So I suppose the trophies I get are important but I can only do what I can do. More would be nice but........

I love going after trophies and its fun. However I wouldnt consider myself a trophy whore. I dont play a game just for the trophies but if its a game I like then I will try to get a platinum for it. Youll never see me get Terminator Salvation or Hanna Montana because I dont want to play those games and dont care about my score that much to do so. I do check the trophy list before I play a game just so I can get the "missable trophies" that come along and to see how far I have left in the main story. Also I usually dont get a platinum immediately after playing a game. I'll play and grind until it feels like work then ill move onto another game. Then ill go back and start farming again when I feel like it. Ive done that with Infamous (played good/bad and did all trophies except for blast shards but got the shards in one day a year later), Rayman Origins (played the story and perfected half the levels, quit for a month and perfected the others), and Burnout paradise (Did the offline trophies completely, waited a year and did the online trophies when I got the move for the snap a pic trophy).

I will share my biggest trophy whore moment. I bought motorstorm on the ps3 just to automatically pop the platinum i earned on the Vita version. I also plan on doing it for the MGS HD collection.

I don't have enough gametime to care the least bit about trophies. I have such a huge backlog that I'm set for the next year or 2 already, grinding for trophies has abolutely no place in that or I'd never get to some games. :P

Depends, I mean sometimes I go for it. But I could only Platinum something I really like. REALLY like.

Even LA Noire, a game I love, I haven't gotten myself to finish getting the collectibles in. It's been over a year now so I probably will never get to it.

I find them useful for some things, silly for others. I have several games (God of War III comes to mind) where i only need a couple of trophies for the platinum. I just I fell like getting it. I think, in the end, I am more of a "play it now" type of guy that a lot of people here are. Meaning, I will get the trophies associated with normal game play but won't necessarily go out of my way to finish a plat unless it is a game I like. FFXIII is probably a 50 hr game. I ended up with well over 100 hrs simply because of the farming part to get every weapon and accessory for the plat. That's out of the norm for me but I enjoyed the game so I went ahead and did it.
