considering what its able to do i wouldnt be surprised if it lasted sonys 10 year expected lifespan
the new nintendo handheld (if there will be one) would probably have features the psp already has like mp3 player, photo viewer, movie player so i wouldnt worry too much bout a new sony handheld coming out any time soon
sony said in their recent topic about psp anniversary that they're hoping the psp will last up to 10 yearsiamthe1ne
well, that's crap. it'll be lucky if it lasts another two years. i barely play mine at all anymore. :|

Unfortunately , it's not crap. SONY's CEO Ken Kutagari himself confirmed that PSP will have a 10 years lifespan. And the PSP is now outselling its rival nintendo in terms of handheld console. Not to mention with newest release of Monster Hunter Portable 2G in Japan , the PSP has become a VERY HOT buy for the past few months.
I definately believe that the PSP will live longer than expected.
just wondering i am thinking at least another 2+ years before the release a new one.dangerd0g24the new one? what do you mean.. they havent confirmed anything so far... the psp will last more than that as long as we have good games around... updates are good.... they are able to make good games because of the previous updates... wait for e3 and see what happens.. it will be big for sony's ps3 and psp.. write.that.down... am still waiting for ff: dissidia and kh: birth by sleep... and if GT does come out and DMC...
I think that the PSP has limited life left in it. Ready At Dawn have said they aren't going to make another PSP game, signalling that develoeprs are basically waiting till the next version is announced or moving over to the DS or iPhone.
Here is an article that discusses the possible "death" of the PSP:

I think theyll keep updating it like the DS, and then make a new one when Nintendo does bball_freak_2
its only been like 3 yrs, so i would expect 2 or 3 more years. and after that they'll release a psp2. but they will still make a few psp games. Kinda like with the PS2 and PS3. You can still get a new ps2, but they dont release many good new games anymore.
