I place a lot of research into it, I never like to just make a gaming purcahse less I know I will like it, sometimes I still find a choice here or there that wasn't right for me, but for the most part I get games that I like a lot. When I spend $60 on a game, I tru;ly like to know what I'm going to get, so I do as ,much research as possible

I usually do somewhere in the middle ground. I definitely like to know what I'm getting myself into but I don't like to know too much about a game because then there's no surprises left. Typically a demo is what I use to decide whether or not to buy a game and it's work well for me so far.

I do a bit of research but im not one of those people that dont get a game unless it has a rating of 8.5 or higher. I dont really care about what ratings games get, Gamespot could give a game 5 but i think its a 10.

Enough. I won't spend a week looking at a game deciding whether or not to buy it, but if I'm spending a full $59.99 on it, I'll see if it's good or not.

If a game looks awesome, I'll read a couple of reviews before I buy it. If it's a game that doesn't look that interesting, but it's being hyped, I'll do a little more research so I can figure out why everyone's getting so excited.

I do a fair bit of research before deciding whether or not to buy a game. I watch videos, look at review scores and check forums. I find forums useful when deciding on purchasing a game because the comments in the forums are of average gamers, not journalists.

Heh, I'd trust a journalist over a forum. Everyone gets such radical opinions about games, without a lot of thought as to why a game is good or bad.

I usually look at a few reviews and based upon the reviews and my own opinion on how the game seems to me makes my decision. I don't over analyze a game, or ruin any surprises. If I really like the game I might pay full price, but if it's so so and I'm interested in it I'm going to wait for a price drop.

I do a bit of research but I like to play the game myself and have my own opinion. If it's £39.99 I'll wait for a price drop unless I really want it.

I do a fair amount of research. However, I tend to wait for a significant price drop before I even consider buying a game I'm interested in ($59.99 is too much).

I used to do a lot of research and only buy AAA titles before I was making money, because it was in very short supply.

Now that I have a steady paycheck, I can afford to pick up plenty of the titles I'm not 100% certain I'll like.

Not to mention I never pay more than $20 for a game anymore, so no game is ever a huge waste of money even if I don't like it.

i would say a fair amount, gameplay is #1 priority for me, if i dont like the way it plays then i dont care how good the story is , i wont like it. The story is usually what will peek my interest to do the research though.

Really you would trust one journalist or maybe a couple over 100s of actual gamers? I do a fair amount of research look at videos, ask other people their thoughts and even read a lot of gamer reviews. I have made the mistake too many times of using prior experience with a great game only to be dissapointed in the remake too so i am cautious now

I put alot of effort into researching a game before I buy it. First I read all the previews. After that, I play a demo if one is available. I then wait for the gamspot review. Finally, I check the opinions of friends who I know have similar gaming tastes to me. I think that due to this, I can honestly say that I have never bought a weak (don't like the word "bad") game in over a year.

I rarely do research, i look at developer/publisher and the genre.. that's about it. I might do a google search to see if the game has a bunch of bugs/glitches/freezes..

I do my share of research. Read/watch some reviews, see what people have to say about it on the forums. With darned near every game being a sequel these days, I guess I usually just go by what I though of the previous game, and if the next one sounds like it will be bigger and better or just more of the same.

Still wind up buying plenty of disappointing games though.
