Me, I actually never got one...... wait nevermind I did, Final Fantasy XII, but that because it was the only one they had left, and it was the same price as the normal one. Anyway other then I don't, but the one game that I will get collecter edition for, is (if you haven't guess already by my sig and profile pic and banner and blog post) inFAMOUS 2. What about you?

Never. I'm not that big of a fan where I would spend a disgusting amount of money for some action figures and some art reguardless of the game.

It has to come with something practical, not just a art book or cool toy. LBP 2 was very worth it. It cant be more than just 79.99 dollars and I have to own the prequel and love it, knowing this one will be better.

LBP 2 fits all these things.

I buy them quite frequently. I won't pay 100 bucks for one, but I'll go 80 most of the time. Most recent one was the Dead Space 2 CE. I like it, but I've seen better ones for 80 bucks. Even 70.

I haven't bought a CE of a game since... I don't know when. These days I can't justify spending more than the $60 for a standard edition of a game. There are several CE's that I would love to get like Mortal Kombat (the one with the controller), Killzone 3, and Black Ops. But, spending $100+ for a game that I will most likely sell or trade in later just doesn't make sense for me.

I don't get it that often. Last collector edition game I bought was Final Fantasy 12. I am getting MVC3 CE though.

I only did it for GT5 to celebrate the game finally arriving after years of waiting. Other than that I never buy CE's.

I don't care at all about the editions that come with tacky plastic statuettes and "replica guns". Some of the $99 and $149 collectors editions are just stupid IMO. Literally EVERY game has one now too. It's ridiculous. They're designed for naive children - or insane OCD collector types. I can understand maybe if it's a game you are REALLY looking forward to, but otherwise I just don't get it. Usually their so cheaply made too, it just baffles me why anyone would want the clutter in their home

As far as what collectors editions I've jumped for, I can't remember on old systems. For PS3 I went with Castlevania: Lords of Shadow collectors edition (which I got for same price as regular edition). It's a pretty nice package, basically just comes in hardcover book-like case with MUCH better embossed cover art, as well as some art inside the book. I also have GT5, while also a nice package it was probably overkill to spend $99 on.

If I was going to get MvC3 early I'd probably get the collectors edition since it's only $10 more, that's the type of collectors edition I can appreciate (simple ones that come with nicer cover, or an artbook). But I'm not getting this game until much later down the line, so I'll probably just get the regular edition by then...

There's rarely a collectors edition to a game I want that I don't get, usually I enjoy it no matter what it is, but my favs are figures since I have them on the sideboard I use to store my games in ^^

Only on franchises I adore. Star Wars the Force Unleashed 2 and LBP2 are two Collector Editions I have. I expect to get a UC3 Collectors Edition as well if one is announced.

I never buy them I would have bought LittleBigPlanet 2 collectors edition as the American version had stuff that was worth buying it for, however ours in Europe was awful all we got was the DLC which is good and a awful steelbook case. Most collectors edition we get here are steelbook cases and I'll avoid them as I cannot stand those cases I prefer the normal cases.

GT5 but that's because the price difference was very small. Also planning on getting Killzone 3's Helghast Edition.

I've only ever bought one. LBP2. Having said that I may pick up the collector's edition of TW PGA Tour 12 if best buy runs the same promo here in Canada that they are running in the States...no word on that yet though.

Not often. If it's a game that is a part of one my ALL TIME favorite series, then I'll probably get it. But 90% of the time, I don't waste my money on them. I don't know, they just always come with cheap plastic crap "replicas" that just don't seem worth all the money. Some of the DVDs are cool, but you can watch all the behind the scenes stuff online. The last CE I bought was for Bioshock 2, because it came with the LP and CD, and a MASSIVE hardcover artbook and a few posters. Now THAT'S a collector's edition. Seriously the art book was almost 200 pages!

I bought two Collectors Edition titles this generation:

- Demons Souls (The strategy book was invaluable help).

- Metal Gear Solid 4 (Art book is fantastic, still using the key chain and MGS4 blu-tooth headset).

I rarely buy Collectors Editions (CED). Unless it's a proven franchise that I've loved for years and looks epic.
I've only bought one CED this gen: MW2. Mainly because it came with COD Cla$$ic and a wallpaper for the PS3. But I won't ever buy another CED for a game that comes out every year.

I mainly go for RPG CED's. Because they don't come out every year so it's more of a special event.

Usually if its a game I really like and the extra stuff you get is also worthwhile, my best CE yet was probably Fable 3, I just love the fact that it comes packaged in what looks like a hundred year old story book.

Rarely. If it's a game I'm really looking forward to and has cool stuff, then I might consider buying it. The last three CEs I bought were:

- Final Fantasy XII (it was the same price as the original though)
- Demon's Souls (the guide was a great help and I was able to sell it for like $30 or something)
- Ys Seven (for $10 more, I got a map, art-book and the soundtrack; good deal)

I don't really buy Collecter Editions, but it really depends on what comes with it and how much there selling online. The only collectors/special editions I bought were-

  • Heavy Rain (PS3)- came with Origami Bird, Soundtrack and DLC Episode 1 Taxsidmiist
  • Kingdom Hearts BBS (PSP)- Art Book and 2 postcards
  • Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 (PS3)- Mini Comic book, Soundtrackand DLC Costumes
  • Devil May Cry 4 (PS3)- Artbook

Never, it's a total waste of money, and you only end up with a bunch of extra junk (made in China) that mostly have no real game value.

Only few games and game series would make me buy a Collector's Edition or whatever. I have around 30+ games and I own 3 collector's editions those being MGS4, RE5 and BioShock 2. And I gotta say RE5's was a complete waste of money and BioShock 2's was the best out of the three. I'll swear one day I'll buy myself a record player! :P
