I think im sold on getting the wheel for this game. Hopefully I can find one that simulates the small movements of the wheel when trying to keep control of the car

I agroo with you on GT, love the game; have a racing wheel that I use with GT5P. The wheel is awesomeyou really do have so much more feel for the car than with a controller. I would suggest a wheel from Logitech, they make a special edition wheel for Gran Turismo. Check em out at Logitech.com but shop aroundyou will find them cheaper elsewhere.
Man, if that's what they call realistic then I'd do pretty well to stay out from behind the wheel of any of those vehicles in real life. I don't know what it is, but the brakes seem to really suck on whatever car that was you drive in the time trial. I'd be going 60 coming to a curve, slam on brakes, and be 50 yards off into the sand before the car actually stops. That's realistic? Mr. GoodWrench says..... NO.TheEldestGodconsidering GT has the closest in game lap times vs real life, i would say its a problem with the speedometer. It handles just like a real car, its just for example, when it says your traveling at 90mph, your actually going closer to 50.
Im gonna get the Logitech G27. it wont be a while till this game comes out so i will be actively looking for a deal the entire time til it comes outI agroo with you on GT, love the game; have a racing wheel that I use with GT5P. Maybe you're right about the speedo. I dunno. I just felt drunk trying to hit them curves just right. I never could get the hang of it. I can drive a real car just fine, so maybe the controller itself its what's ruin it for me. Maybe this game is just meant to be played with a wheel. That makes sense, too, because I'm pretty sure my F-150 wouldn't handle too well with a sixaxis.

A wheel for GTP and GT5 time trial is worlds different from using the controller. I bought the DFGT and couldn't believe the difference it made while playing Prologue. I don't want to seem like a jerk but I'm pretty sure if you are driving a real car at 90+mph your not going to come to a stop right away. A car without antilock brakes is def. not gonna stop if you hammer down the brake pedal. Braking going into a corner is a huge mistake, you brake and release before turning the wheel.
Braking going into a corner is a huge mistake, you brake and release before turning the wheel.360hammerSort of. You really want to be backing off of the brakes while you're winding the wheel into the corner. This lets you keep your grip utilization close to maxed out, and push your braking point just a split-second later. Check out Going Faster by the Skip Barber Racing School; it's a great book that not only teaches the basics (which you probably already know, if you're a sim racing fan), but why they work the way they do. There's some interesting insight in there, especially for things that are very counter-intuitive.

I will def. give this a look. Thanks.
Ok i tried the little time trial thing and couldn't handle the car worth anything.....but I do have to give it to them on graphics. I was jst watching that video and I was like cool we can get some cool motorcycle racing "looking" gloves to wear to look at while we have the view inside the car. Then I realize that wasn't the game footage it was real footage . I got tricked out from real to virtual. Pretty cool stuff.

NO.TheEldestGodTell me, have you ever driven down a rode at 60MPH while taking a turn and slam your brakes to the floor while driving on racing slicks? Most people would brake softly, to keep from losing control.

Why do you have a mass murderer as your avatar? Just curious if you know that or not.

UM... hes from metal gear.....Not "Che" Ok he just photoshoped the red star on the beret of big boss. Very enlightening lol.Me neither tbh, but GT is like the RPG of racing, if you catch my drift (puuun). Increasing stats, collecting cars, turning your used car into a super tuned one so you can farm tracks until you get another one. I bet they calles squaresoft when making the first one xDI wouldnt mind buying the steering wheel for this game, i loved playing all the past GT games, i love its super realism simulation racing. and normally i dont even like racaing games.

[QUOTE="istuffedsunny"]That's some impressive technology. Now if only the environments didn't look like crap I'd be totally immersedAdziboyIf your talking about the time trial, the size of it was like 200mb. They cut it down completely. Why the hell would the cut it down so much? It looked so bad that I will absolutely not buy the game... you can't just release something with your name on it of that quality, it didn't seem like the only problem was environments... but since I deleted it I can't really pretend to remember perfectly... and the lack of damage to the cars in GT's has bothered me tbh.

The demo was not even so much a demo. The sole purpose of it was to show people how the new physics were going to behave and in the process be a contest, simple as that. The only thing that this demo actually demonstrated was how the new physics behave. It was only roughly 200 MB.
That being said, yeah, the graphics were pretty bland, Forza 3 looks a hell of alot better.

Im pretty sure the reason it was 200 meg was so people could download it, enter the competition and not have to download heaps.
They cut the graphics of pretty much everything, dont expect the final product to look anything like the time trial. If you do expect it to, your an idiot.
In response to the user that posted about the sucky driving; drive a real car that fast, slam the brakes on, and see what happens. If your going over 150mph and slam the brakes on, the car is going to lock up, all the weight will shift into the front of the car, and make it hard to turn.
This is a racing simulation.
