Hey.  I was wondering if you guys could tell me or show me a tutorial on how to clean the controller for the PS3 if it gets sticky.  My roomate was a dumbass and sucks at God of War.  So after he died for the 300th time, he got mad and through my controller down on my futon mattress, and then it bounced up and into a cup of fruit punch he had sitting on the ground.  So basically, all the buttons on my controller are really sticky.  I can barely puch the D-pad down because it is that sticky.  Can i unscrew the controller and pop the buttons out and then clean them, or what should i do?  Thanks for your help.

What exactly is sticky? I wouldn't really recommend opening up the controller case, but if you want to sure go ahead. I'd jsut be very sensitive with the inner workings because of the gyroscope (sixaxis). But first, I'd probably just try to wipe it down with a damp cloth and see what happens. Of course have it unplugged from the usb =P

sticky meaning that i cant even play a game or push down the buttons because they are coated with that much fruit punch.  He never really whiped off the controller, so the buttons are really stiff right now.  The buttons stick when i push them down too.

you know what?

use one of the clorox wipes and just wipe it for a long time until the wipe dries out, just make sure the wipe isnt soaking wet, like they can be sometimes, before you wipe it

if you wipe if for that long it should let some of the fluid into the sides of the buttons but not to much to where it will mess up the insides

I THINK :?

Once the inside is a mess, good luck cleaning it. Make your friend with the temper pony up the dough for a new Sixaxis.

Whenever I have a sticky mess on my PS controllers, I just use a moist toothbrush to clean the buttons... works like a charm! 8)

Step 1: Ask your friend for $50 for a new controller. (Is that how much they cost? I forget)

Step 2: If he refuses, pound on him until he agrees.

Step 3: If he's a tough nut to crack, just keep pounding on him until you feel you've administered $50 worth of a beating.

Step 4: Even if he does pay up, take something he enjoys and dip it in something equally sticky and disgusting (no suggestions here :P)

Step 5: Enjoy the day. Payback complete.
