I currently have a wireless N router, located in my room,, with the PS3 on the floor below, basically directly under me. When I play COD4 its generally lag free, but FIFA 08 has been generally unplayable with the lag. When i play at home its lag free, so its def not the game. On COD4, i usually have full green bars, occasionaly one less, so thats a decent indication of my connection

Any possible suggestions to improve my connection? Using Wired is not an option.

Dont worry, its just FIFA, the PSP version has the same issue. Most of EA games are sucky on the online department. Also, check on Network settings--> Connection Status to see how much reception you have. I found that 70+ percent works fine.

I would buy a powerline ethernet adapter. They are really cheap now and amazing. http://www.amazon.com/Actiontec-MegaPlug-Ethernet-Adapter-Twin-Pack/dp/B000QGBC8C/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1217688727&sr=8-1 thats the one I use and its just as fast for me as plugging the PS3 directly in the router.

Yeah, i heard about the foil thing, but I dont need it cause Im at 100% connections strength anyway :p. Plus Ea has some pretty bad servers, so its not your router, its FIFA.

Can someone explain this to me? My connection was perfectly fine for months for NBA Live 08 online and then it just started disconnecting and I haven't really been able to log-in and I really want to download the Madden 09 demo. It took forever to download the NCAA 09 demo because it kept stopping due to the connection problems...

I mean, it was working great for months and then it stopped. I tried manually inserting the information but it did nothing.

Nevermind. I think Google gave me the answer haha.

I have a Lynksis router (not sure on the model) and it gives me about a 85-90% connection but for some reason it still SUCKS! when I play MGO... I'm about 10 feet away from it.. n I have two computers connected to the same router n then the one that is directly connnected to it. But right now i was just playing and the hardline PC and the laptop are off.. the other one was on but it wasn't on the internet. I don't have a security setting but all the PC's get perfect connections... I'm only 10 feet from the damn thing too... Is there anyway I can improve my connection? besides putting a security thing on there (becuase I don't know how to do it.) or directly connecting it?

I've just used the foil method and went from 65% to around 80%. Not bad considering i'm rubbish at making things.

They use it to create a directional signal from the router. I did the same thing with a old license plate. Just bent it in a bow and attached it to a cheap book end with duct tape (does the exact same thing but doesn't look as good).

I get about a 37% connection, but sometimes mid-game I'll go to Internet Connection and it will be 100%, then flicker down to 15% then to 17% then maybe 22% and it will end up staying there, weird, and it can piss me off, even with a 25% connection my PS3 sometimes just wont load google.. lol piss take! Ima try the foil thing

Help!! Im using my HTC Desire to tether to my ps3 for online gaming (black ops) but the connectivity is quite laggy,i have only 2 bars,it goes up to 3 for a second, then back to 2 bars and even 1.does anyone have any solution on how to improve the connection? I used a easy connection to set up network settings, and i even restored my htc to factory settings to keep it clean of apps and running programs.HELPPP!
