I have been trying in vain for absolutely ages now to get music and pictures onto my ps3. I have the 40gb model so can use USB storage devices to do so. However every time i put in a Memory stick or mass storage device and then search for them under the 'pictures' and 'music' menus they are not being picked up by the ps3 and therefore the media cannot be copied. I have tried putting music CDs in and copying them and that has worked fine but i dont wanna do that for all my music etc.

Any suggestions welcome!!!

Your usb stick or stora device geshould be in NTFS format. Rather trying the cross button, use traingle button and hit display all.

tried but triangle button does nothing for me. Shouldn't your USB memory sticks work no matter what. Otherwise how do you get pictures etc. onto your harddrve?

if you have a computer red kawa file server is the fastest way. U.S.B is a slow way to get everything on your PS3 just download the file server on your computer and transfer everything to your P.S.3 simple and fast

Are you trying to find the pictures or music directly under the menu? If thats the case that won't work. Go for the usb mass storage under music or picture or whatever . Then try the triangle button.

USB memory sticks are in one of two formats. FAT32 or NTFS. Judging by your problem you have a FAT32 stick when it needs to be NTFS.

Here is a link on how to change your memory stick from FAT32 to NTFS: Here

You can also Setup Window Media Player on your computer to sync with your PS3 and from there you can view all your music and what not and then choose what files you want to actually put on your PS3 hard drive.

Storing media locally on a PS3 is so 2 weeks ago, use a DLNA streaming server like Windows Media Player 11 or TVersity.
