How to remove linux?

I have linux on my ps3 and a parition on my hard drive. With the new update do I have to remove linux? What would happen if I didnt and went ahead with the update, and will I have to back my HDD up and format it?

Maybe 3.21 only removes the option to install Linux and not Linux itself. I don't know though, just saying...

do you actually have to remove linux to go ahead with the update? I dont mind loosing the 10gb parition i just dont want to loose my whole ps3.

And I really cant be bothered to back up, format and restore. Will I get away with just going ahead with the update? I do have a 250gb HDD so 10gb isnt much to me
