It depends on how violent you make it mostly. The cutscenes can be pretty bloody but you can always skip those.

Actually I'm not sure if you can skip the cutscenes.

i dont think this is a good game to give to a little kid, if thats what your asking

theres not as much gameplay violence as other games b/c its a stealth game.

but there is violence in the cutscenes so that would be a problem.

plus, theres ALOT of crude and suggestive themes.

but its a really great game, just not one that would be appropriate for the younger folks

as long as the parents arnt watching over thier shoulder 24/7

i think it would be fine b/c most kids see/hear worse stuff at school. so mgs4 is nothing compared to that.

like the person above said you can skip the cutscenes if it gets a little too explict.

I'd say no. I wouldn't let my kid have it. I've havint played it in atleast a year but I know it would be too much for a 12 to 13 year old. Not to mention the secret BB photoshoots that aren't remotely hard to unlock. While I'd give this game for a 15/16 year old. 12 and 13 is too young. Try great games like Uncharted 1&2, Infamous, Ratchet&Clank and little big planet. Infamous is the best choice in my opinion for someone that age.

It depends on the player...some of the weapons can be modified to tranquilize or incapacitate the enemy. But if the player go's the conventional route it can get kinda bloody....so on a scale from 1-10, I would give it a 7.

MGS4 is not violent at all compared to other games such as Dead Space or God of War. I give it a 3/10.

Its not so much age as it is their maturity. If its a 13 year old with the maturity of a 16/17 year old I'd let them play it. I like to think of ESRB ratings as suggested ages but apparently politicians and overly protective parents seem to disagree and think the printed ages on the box should be law.

If you have to ask people in a forum about this, then you shouldn't probably be playing the game at all.

If you have to ask then you're not old enough to play it.

I'd give it about a 4/10. It's not that violent, but it is possible to make it violent/bloody.

Who said anything about HIM wanting to play it?

I think its safe to assume that he is a teenager and his/her parents said no so he goes to the forums trying to gain evidence as to how violent a certain game is. Then he/she tries to convince the parents that its not that bad. Thats how these type of threads usually end up.

If I've learned anything in life its to never assume anything.
