I agree, for the cost of buying a Bluray burner for your computer, you might as well buy the HD-DVD player... plus if you already have HD-DVD drive, what is the point of trying to get it on bluray... I don't think it would be worth $400-500 (whatever a burner costs) just to get it on an HDTV. Most likely you could just hook your desktop/laptop with the HD-DVD drive and watch it that way. Unless this person was planning on making *coughillegalcough* copies for people without HD-DVD players which I don't support that idea.

the whole process is more expensive thanjust getting a hd dvd player and the movie, whats the point?
