I have my ps3 hooked to my pc monitor, but its getting annoying having to switch all the wires when I want to go on my pc for a bit instead. is there anyway to have both ps3 and pc connected via some sort of gadgetry so i just flick a switch to alternate between them? cheers!

Does your PC have an HDMI port?

Does your monitor have an HDMI input? You can get an HDMI switcher for around $30.

Mine's connected to a monitor.

You need an HDMI to DVI cable if your monitor has a DVI slot. But if it has an HDMI slot, you can plug the HDMI cable directly.

For sounds, you need the component cable (Red,white, yellow), a 3.5mm red and white male adapter and a 3.5mm female to female adapter which can be plugged for your speakers.

Hope this helps. Googling the items I showed you will help. :D

Doing that right now. My PC is connected via DVI, my PS3 by HDMI. If I want to switch, all I have to do is press a button on my monitor and it switches.

Its most ideal if your monitor has 2 different digital inputs (either DVI or HDMI). VGA might work too (depending on the monitor), but the quality will suffer if you have to resort to analog connection.

Lots of different switches to choose from. Just check reviews and find one in your price range. Way better than going VGA.

My PC has different "modes" so all I have to do is press a button and it goes into HDMI mode.

Actually I did the opposite, I have my ps3 and PC hooked up to my tv screen. It was easier this way because the HDTV has an HDMI port as well as a monitor port. No extra parts needed yaaaay.
