Hows the online for the ps3?

Like i said in my previous post I'm completely sick of the 360 after just having my 4th one die on me. I'm not waiting for xbox to fix the thing again and im not buying another one. Its going right in the trash and thats all i have to say to the "360 fan boys".

So buying my first ps3 and im kinda forced to buy the 40gb version but o well. Hows the online is there alot of people. Im a big COD4 fan and been playing rainbow six vegas 2 the last couple days. I have a blutooth headset i just wanna make sure theres people playing/talking on the online. thanks in advance.

i did the same thing i got a ps3 after my second xbox died i dont take crap it should have worked perfect the first time

but yeah the onlines free no subscription its really cool

exactly ...and especially after ive bought 4! microsoft should give me a free elite for the hell of it with all the money i dumped over to them. that would be the right thing to do ...but dont try and tell that to the indians that answer your calls or max that cant understand a damn word you say "did you say xbox elite?" It's actually pretty good.. Only complain I have is that I can't access my friends list to send messages or invite people to games while I am playing a game. Which is a major pain in the ass!!! But other than that I have no complaints :D

the online connection on my PS3 is better than my 360. PS3 online community is not as big as 360's but it has been growing rapidly since October of last year (when they cut the price) and Home will be coming out in less than a month, so online at that point will be booming. I actually play my PS3 online more than my 360 cuz it doesn't lag nearly as much.

Ya well thats fine gamespot is rather microsoft "friendly" compared to Sony....in any case i leave it at that but ya i dropped Xbox 360 after my third died on me. Got a PS3 right after, have had it for a year and half 60GB and its fantastic for me. Anyways happy gaming everyone!

And after I found I couldn't play Oblivion when XBL was down (e.g. most of December 2007), I said forget this, I'm not buying another cross platform game on 360 ever again... and after picking up Fable 2 for this missus later this year, I may not buy another 360 game period. The DRM issues are just plain unfair given the console's unbelievable failure rate.

Pick one up by all means. Try and track down a 60gb if you can, though, because the PS2 has one of the largest and best backcatalogs in gaming history. Regardless, add me when you get it. We'll start up a support group for MS converts.

I actually prefer PS3 online to 360's.

Don't get me wrong the 360 has the better interface, but I have more fun playing PS3 online games.

Well, even Sony online is going to add an achievement-like feature to games once Home comes out. That'll be awesome since you could show all your awesome doings off to noobs and watch them wallow in their pathetic filth. Great fun.

Anyway, glad to see another Sony fan join the ranks. While I don't play CoD4 online much, I'm heavily into Resistance online, maybe we could fight anyone?8)

Xbox Live definitely has a better interface since, like it's been said before, you can actually do things with your online account (e.g. add friends, set up online fragfests) during a level on any game. With PS3, you can't do that, but man does it connect much better than the 360, no lagging for PS3.

No, it's good to see another sony fan return to the ranks. I was the one trading in my ps1 and heading directly to best buy to wait in line at launce until 12:01 to pick up my ps2 (which I still have, but it doesnt work). The only reason why I bought a 360 is because my ps2 died, sony wouldnt replace it, and xbox 360 just came out.

I have to admit I like xbox live, but I hate the achievements. Like I play a game and I get bored with it then I see I have achievements and im like F$~* now I HAVE TO GET THESE ACHIEVEMENTS ...it just makes you feel like you did something idk but I could really do with out them.

It really sucks that I cant buy a 60 or 80 gb ps3 and I know I'll go buy my 40gb ps3 tomorrow and this weekend sony will come out with a magical deal with a 120 gb ps3 with spiderman 52 bundled for $350 and I'll shout MOTHER F&*@*R AT THE TOP OF MY LUNGS! YEa ...thats just my luck.

Honestly, I dont care for PSN much. Sure, the store is ok and online is good and all but I dont think it compares to Live. Im not a fanboy, I love both of my systems but I prefer Live much more than PSNMatt2556
