Like its says above that I am planning on getting the 60gb PS3 tommorow. I held out from getting one a couple weeks ago for the Big Bang Announcement which turned out to be bull but I believed it b/c Sony is prone to doing this all the time but it actually turned out true for once. Here's some questions that can benefit my decision:

1)What Game (only one for now) should I get?

2)Will there be another price drop for the 60gb given that it was discontinued and that stores need to clear it out before the 40gb comes?

3)Should I wait for any announcements in the future or get it now?

Thank for answering and helping me out. Can't wait to FINALLY BE A PS3 OWNER!!!

I'm too picky to help you with #1 and 2 and 3 seems like speculation guesses at best.

First let me give you a high-five (*internet highfive*)

If I were you, I would get a 60GB PS3 with Resistance: Fall of Man. The 60GB is the best version in my opinion because it has the emotion engine or something like that which makes for better backwards compatability and DVD playing.

When i got a PS3, I got the 60GB, Resistance: Fall of Man, and an extra controller.

That day was one of the greatest days of my life. Nothing quite like playing Resistance on your brand new PS3 in high-def. on your comfy couch.

Oh, and I think the 60GB is slowly coming off the shelves.

1) Warhawk, hours upon hours of online fun.

2) Not really, it will probably all be cleared out of stock before this holiday season is gone, it's a popular model.

3) Just get it now, it's the best model, the only possible announcement other than the 40gb model, would be a price drop to $500 on the 80gb, but that would probably only happen once the 60gbs are all gone, and you would have to wait a couple more months, Just go with the 60gb now.

Hope I could help!

Resistance was my first purchase too, and it was a great choice, imo. Heavenly Sword is another great game, but rather short, so if it's your only game, you may feel disapointed by that (better as a second or third purchase. Maybe a rental if money is an issue). Fight Night Round 3 (assuming you don't already own it) is also a blast and the graphics are painfully great (watching the slow-mo replay of the KO punch withflying drool, blood, and flesh ripples and all will make you cringe, in a good way!) and it'll take you a bit to "complete". Warhawk is also popular, but online only. Not quite the full package, but hugely popular none the less, and it comes with a blutooth headset.

edit: warhawk headset is packaged with the retail (read: in store, buy the disc) version. Not the dl version (although, dl'ing is cheaper to be fair)

Again, I'm another 60gig/Resistance owner. You can't go wrong with that dude, just keep making those system updates. Well worth it. Also, you're investing at a GOOD time too-- Dualshock 3 (the ultimate controller)is just around the corner, you can't get much better than that either LOL So if I were you, don't worry about getting an extra six-axis controller and just save that cash until DS3 comes out on the shelves.

When Ifirst got my ps3 for christmasI thought I was the luckiest kid on earth but now I just cant wait 2 sell it. Im telling u just get a xbox 360 because ps3 has a limited amount of games and they are very expensive. Xbox 360 has Halo 3, and as much money u are spending on this ps3 u could get a 360 and halo 3 and extra controller and xbox live. cant get any better than that.

i definitely recommend Resistance: Fall of Man as the game to get. in the next month, there will also be Ratchet and Clank Future, Uncharted, and Haze, all of which look like they will be amazing games.

the model, i say 60 cuz of the cheap price of what you're getting. it's the model that i have. i bought it when it first came out for $700 (i bribed a best buy employee to tell me when the next shipment was coming lol) and i don't regret a single bit of it. resistance was also the game i bought and i have spent hours upon hours playing that game. send me a buddy invite online and look at my stats bLg_b0ss.

don't expect a better deal on what you're getting for the price - the 40 gb is probably the only option that's cheaper, but imo the 60 is where it's at (plus you got ps2 backward compatibility). trust me the 60gb right now is the way to go.

I would go with the 60gig as-well. Thats whatI have. I doubt that there will be another price drop for the 60 gig model though. But thats the chance your going to have to take. The 60gig does have the backwards compatibility and can play PSone and PS2 games. Some don't care about that because they still have there PS2's or don't feel that they should be playing last gen games on it.I just like knowing that I could if i wanted to with out any problem. The 80gig has a patchthat you can D-load to play older games. But it doesn't support every title. As far as games go thats up to you and what your into. Resistance is really good, Heavenly sword is amazing. Your going to need to get anHD cable though. If yourT.V.supports HDMI I would go with that. Anything will be extremely better than thered, white and yellow. Believe me you will see a huge difference. and you don't need to spend an arm and a legon the cable remember digital is digital. 100 bucks, 50 bucks or 30 just look for something of decent quality.

60gb is the best model thats avaliable right now, so definitely go and get it. There prolly wont be another price drop on the 60gb because the 60gb's are running out on the shelves, i know where i live, like... 70% of the stores have run out of 60gb models and only carry the 80gb.

As for a game i would HIGHLY recommend Resistence: Fall of Man, great single player campaign as well as an extremely fun online mulitplayer. Worth every penny.

Seems like everything is covered, so ill just give you my opinion on #1. Thats a hard question. Resistance, warhawk, heavenly sword, motorstorm, ratchet, uncharted (these two you'll have to wait for)... anyone, you can't miss (see if anyone gets the reference).

If I had to pick one... I'd go with ratchet, but if you want it now... warhawk or heavenly sword, depending if you enjoy multiplayer or single player more.

all of these are great games so you really can't go wrong/ I too have the 60gb version and thats pretty much the status quo. But i think if you can't findthat then definatly the 80gb. Well I guess if you like shooters then resistance is the game for you (or if you can hold out a little longer Haze loks to be a pretty good game). Although if you looking for a slightly more single player experience i might say try folklore.

hmm.. for #1, its a hard decision but i guess that you just cant go wrong with the retail version of Warhawk. it'll be a great way to start off your PS3 experience since it comes with a headset and it's PS3's online killer app. Also, if you could, i would suggest you rent Ninja Gaiden Sigma for a single player game to play along with Warhawk. However, if you already beat NG or just not into it, Resistance or Motorstorm are excellent choices. But yeah, definitely get Warhawk first. As for #2, i don't think that there will be another price drop on the 60GB but i believe that the 80GB is going to drop Motorstorm and sell for $500 by the end of the year. And as for #3, don't wait! get it now. you won't regret it. Get the 500 dollar 60GB PS3, its your best bet ;) oh yeah, also i would suggest you pick up an extra SIXAXIS or two for Warhawk cuz since it has split-screen multiplayer online, lots of fun to be had there

if you dont have a ps2, then buy the 60gb... so you can buy Manhunt 2, DBZ Tenkaichi 3, and some ps2 classic, like MGS, or FF games... oh and for a ps3 game buy Oblivion GOTY...

Get the 60 GB PS3. At $500, it's the best deal you're going to find.

As for games...that's a tough question because we don't really know much about what kind of games you like. Either way, I'd reccomend Warhawk to you because it is a fantastic, addictive online experience that has no rivals. 32 player online warfare is awesome and it never gets old. You'll be surprised to see how hours fly by one after another while playing. Plus, having a Bluetooth headset is handy for future online games.

Resistance is also an excellent choice as it is a well polished game with excellent single and multiplayer modes. I just like 32 player online warfare more...that's all. Heavenly Sword will probably make your jaw drop when you see it in action...I think it's worth owning, but if you can only have 1 game, then I'd go with something a little bit deeper.

I would be sure to pick up Uncharted and The Orange Box when they come out. That should keep you busy for a long time.
