and I need to know a few things. I've heard that there are some screen issues with the PSP 3000 compared to the 2000 version, but I also want to be able to play games on my TV and maybe some downloadable titles.

If the screen thing isn't that big of an issue I'll go with the 3000 version. If it is I'll go with the 2000, but only if it can do everything the 3000 version can do. Can you guys help me.

Also, any word on any price drop in the near future that I should wait for?

The PSP 3000 has some scanlines but they're not as bad as everyone is claiming. Once you play a game, you may not even notice them. You can connect the PSP to the TV however you have to buy some extra cables. Google "PSP TV Cable" and you'll find what you need. I have a PSP 3000 and it's really good. They're also very sturdy, I dropped my PSP 3000 on tile and it didn't break.

Have not heard of any news as of lately for any price drop coming lately. Is it possible for you to check out a PSP 3000 and see if you notice those scan lines? Go check the articles and videos about it first though then check them out in real life. See if you notice it. If not, then that is awesome!

The PSP 2000 does not have a built in Mic but it can be remedied by getting an external installment if you really want to.

The video output for the PSP is slightly stretched sideways and there will be black bars around the screen (no fullscreen) when you play games not unless you zoom it manually using your TVs features (if it has any zoom feature on the component connection).

BTW, i dont own any kind of PSP so you can take my words with a grain of salit. Goodluck deciding :)

Aren't we normal people supposed to life in the present and not in the future? If we dedicated ourserlfs to live only thinking in the future and pricedrops will won't have anything.

I've played about 50 hours of games on my new PSP-3000, and had no issues with scanlines or dead pixels. I'd certainly get the 3000; the colors are much more vibrant. On some games the extra vibrant-ness can look funny, but the 'wide color palette' option can be shut off in System Settings, making peoples' complaints about that pretty much moot.

*Oh wait, your question has been answered. >_>

No scan issues I've seen. and no word on a price drop yet. A rumor about a 4000 series, so it might happen.

I heard scanlines are there if you look hard for it. It depends on how sensitive your eyes are. It's just a matter of not noticing. All I can say is that congratulations to the people who does not notice it and really sorry for those who do and find them really irritating.

I recently got a 3000 and find that the scanlines can be distracting. I also got a dead pixel the second time I turned on the console. The scanlines bother me more than the dead pixel. The GOs screen is IMMENSELY superior.

The differences between the 2000 and the 3000 are paltry at best, if you have no need for a microphone built in, ability to play games on TV with composite cables or an uberbrite screen that eats battery life, than save your money and get a 2000 with a larger memory stick and some games

I never seen a screen issue on my PSP. Make sure you sign up with Playstation Network whenyou get your PSP.....Its a great decision.
