i have heard all the great things about skyrim. But many say that they expirence lag after the saved file gets large. Some say that even the patch doesnt help. I am planning on getting it for the ps3. So any opinions?

i have heard this too but i have yet to experience it. the only glitch i ever came across was the mammoth flying up in the air when he spawned and that was at the beginning of the game when i first got it after its release. my point here is most of the people who have skyrim aren't experiencing these glitches. only a small percentage of people are experiencing the serious glitches

i sold it back when it was locking up walking through doors...and it was the last day before the bottom was going to fall out of the resale price to gamestop... imo, check out the official forums under the ps3 and see what the scuttlebutt is I have thought about getting it again from time to time but just picked up Dragon's Dogma which I am having more fun with then I ever did in my brief time in skyrim

Don't use the term "lag" if you don't know what it means.

The glitches won't be as much of a problem now.

The "lag" (really frame rate drops) was an issue that effected some Skyrim PS3 players. It varied from player to player and wasnit universale, it seemed to be based around how long you have played and how many items you left lying around in the world (or something like that). Some people didn't have the issue, others did.

However that issue (and many others) got fixed A LONG time ago. You can play it perfectly fine now without problems. Though IMO it's always best to avoid buying Bethesda games at launch, they always have issues regardless of what platform you buy. The 360 version had it's fair share of bugs tooeven though people in SW won't admit it.

But yes it's fine on PS3 now, go ahead and buy it already lol.

I've put in approx. 20 hours after the last patch and haven't experienced any frame-rate drops or glitches since. Prior to the update it was almost unplayable.

I finally got the game after that big 1.04 patch cause I was worried about glitches too. But after having gotten the Platinum trophy for the game the only issues I had were 2 accounts of freezing at random. They werent even that big of a deal and there were no effects after restarting the system.

After the recent patches, the game does run somewhat normal.

Just beware that each time you save, the memory used increases. Say the first save is 2500 mb, next time you save might be 3000 mb and it will continue to increase everytime you save. Better have a lot of memory to play this game. Its a good game, but the way this game is just pizzes me off.

Just curious, what's the total size of the patches to date?

I'm running low on space and every gig counts now.

Haven't experienced any major problems, I have around 50 hours into the game. I use 2-3 manual saved files. I turned OFF all the automatic ones in option menu.

No troubles so far. Go ahead and pick it up. ;)

Played the game back in Jan. and there were problems and frame rate issues every where. Started a new game two weeks ago with all the patches and haven't had any issues yet. Level 32 and climbing and the worst thing to happen was a few seconds of frame rate drops when I loaded into a city. The game can actually be fun when the game works correctly.
