I bought Final Fantasy VII off PSN and...

I bought FFVII off PSN and a protion of the game is not working apparently.

No it is not freezing or anything like that but the game's story won't play on.

The bit im stuck on is when after i get the Tiny Bronco and need to go to the Golden Saucer to get the Keystone. But when i go to the area the Keystone is located the cutscene doesn't play but the game plays on normally. I can still go everywhere else after this and i can even exit. I have been reading a walkthrough for many clues on hoow to progress the story but i couldn't find any clue on how to progress.

BTW, i have gotten Omnislash, been to Bone Village and Gongaga and have also done the Wutai Quest.

Also i have stopped playing the game for many months.

The question is, what is wrong with my game? and if not, then how do i progress the story?

The only way i see fit to progress in the game/story is buy the original disc on ps1 and breakout your old ps1 if you still have it and play it cause the samething happened to me and i was lucky enough to find it for 5 bucks in local pawn shop...but its a defect while importing it to the ps store...i called them and they refunded my money

There's a problem with that suggestion

1. i don't have my original ps1. (which doesn't matter anyway because all ps3's have BC with ps1

2. there are no shops in my part of the world (new zealand) that sells FFVII at all

Did you go to the small house located to the southeast of the Saucer first? You get a small scene there where a guy there tells you he sold it to Dino at the Gold Saucer. It's a been an age since I last played it though...

This, go to the peninsula, talk with the guy, then go to the Gold Saucer, go right in the battle square, fight the Dio arena, gey Keystone and then go the the temple of the ancient.

I have the original copy and the PSN download, played all the PSN download in my PS3 and PSP, no problems at all.

Did you actually approuch the keystone and press X on it? Or whatever the button is. Dio should come when you do that. I've honestly never heard of this issue if he doesn't. oO He should come.

yes! makes me wanna replay the game lol

i have spoken to the weapon dealer and went to the showroom and went to the little red orb in the middle of the room and pressed circle but nothing happened

is my game totally screwed now?

Wait a minute. Red orb? The keystone is a light greenish colour.

Are you in the room shown in this picture? This is where your suppose to be. If you did go in here. Dio did not appear at all? I honestly don't know what the hell is up with your game if he doesn't.

Have you tried checking a FAQ out? The one by the late Kao Megura is the best one out there on this game.

i did what ever the faq told me to do and nothing has changed

Check in your Key items in the menu and see if the keystone is listed aswell. If it ain't then I guess your game really is screwed. Which is damn strange. You'll probably have to start again or perhaps get a save file off someone. If you can do that with PS1 save files I'm not sure.

Ohh and also Cait Sith steals the keystone off you as your on a date with Aeris or Tifa. An throws it to the Shinra helicopter. Theres a chance after months of not playing this game you forgot that this event occured? You need to go straight to the temple of the ancients if this is the case you wont have the keystone anymore but one of the turks will give you it back inside.

Tseng gave the the Keystone at the temple of the ancients

even though i didn't go through the date

Now that you are through with it time to continue this great game!, you still have quite a few hours ahead of you.
