I can play PS2 games in HD, but not PS3 games

I pretty happy that the upscaling feature has finally been brought to life, cause now i can play SOCOM in HD. However, because I don't have 720p on my TV, all my PS3 games still scale down to 480p!:evil:... Absolutley rediculus.

Yes that sucks i'm stuck with the same problem. I'm confident sony will fix this soon enough so we can get a little upscale to 1080i with 720p games.

With this last firmware we got closer!

I feel your pain... my TV 'only' does 1080i also.  I barely play my PS3 games anymore because they don't look so great in 480p on my 57" HDTV

I mostly use my PS3 as a Blu-Ray player, and lately I've been playing GoW since I never had a PS2.... upscaling old games is awesome!  I'll probably buy GoWII (since I was only borrowing #1 from a friend)

They are 720p and i think they upscale now through hdmi only, but nonetheless if your tv only supports 480p and 1080i then the ps3 has to downscale to 480p because it did not support upscaling, and still does not support upscaling without hdmi except on ps2 games.

yeah im in the same boat with this no upscaling

from the looks of it most of the games that are coming out are supporting the 1080i

i was looking at cases and pirates, mlb 07 the show support 720p/1080i/1080p

so alteast these games for 1080i only TV owners we still get a great picture

im hoping the trend continues and all games will support 1080i
