I'd say I am still pretty early in the game
Tess just died and I am currently swimming around in the subway
Although I can see why this game is rated so high and I really respect the fact that the game isn't holding my hand the entire way, there's something about the gameplay that's putting me off. You see, I don't like stealth or survival horror games (although I'm a huge fan of the first Resident Evils games).

So with that said, should I just stop playing now or does the stealth aspect of the game dissolve away?

If you're going to post spoilers at least learn how to use spoiler tags.

Why force yourself to play a game that isn't your thing? There's tons of titles out there waiting to be played.

You don't have to stealth if you don't want to. It just makes your life a lot easier thats all.

I'm not sure. there's just something about the game that I really appreciate. I'm tempted to lower the difficulty so I can just breeze through and enjoy the story aspect of the game

As Punisher said, you can do away with the stealth and go all guns a blazin'. Take direct routes to your objectives or like you said, tone down the difficulty. I would assume like most games, the real meat of the game lays at the middle/finale, if you can keep going for a few more hours, you just may want to replay it in full stealth mode.

Just forced by way through a stealth section with pure violence. I'll most likely play the rest of the game like this. I'm sure I'll gather the effort to finish it, after all I did finish Hitman Absolution and that might be my biggest disappointment this gen. Thanks for the replys

Dont like stealth games myself and I bought AC for the VITA because it was so hyped. I heard all the hyped about this one and almost ran down and got it. If it is stealth and horror then I am glad I actually had some restraint. LOL

If you do not enjoy the game, sell it to a friend.

You need to be aggressive in your approach to stealth. Once that fails try and do the best with the guns you have, you pick a lot of them up throughout the game. Make sure and make good use of them. Also try and avoid clickers if you can, also use all of your inventory, it all comes in handy.

You just to be patient in certain areas. I think the game gets better as you progress.

I finished it early this morning. I played on Hard with listen mode turned off. It's up to each person how they want to play but I will say that the stealth gameplay in this game is absolutely incredible. So intense it's almost too much to handle and I absolutely loved that about it. I doubt that intensity would come through if you played it like a shooter on Easy mode.

You should've done your homework when it came to this game.  I've gone stealth maybe 50% of the time. Stealth helps you conserve that precious ammo cuz your gonna need it in a couple of areas.

I've run into maybe 3 sections where you have to go guns blazing and made it by the skin on my teeth. Stealth was out of the question so I was glad I saved my ammo.
