I can't pre-order MGS4!?

That's lame, called up Gamestop and said I have to wait until a release date is released. Sounded like a load of BS, but two stores said the same thing. So my question is, has anyone been able to get a preorder in, 'cause I know Halo 3's started like way before the game's release.

Another thing, I never trust Gamestop employees, I always feel like they don't know whaat they're talking about.

Here where I live you can pre order a game as soon as it is announced, and it is free too. I have had MGS 4 preordered since like 2006, an just now i pre ordered Fallout 3.Hoffman-Hansen

No release date have been officially released that's why. It's not bull cause it's true, there isn't any. All we know is "Early '08" That's it.

Nope. it was early 2008

People, I have tried to explain this before. Please, o PLEASE, don't preorder games from Video game stores. You are giving them FREE MONEY. They take your 60 buck along with everyone else's and invest it until they have to pay for the games making a nice percentage profit from YOUR money. So, INSTEAD, if you must pre-order, do it as LATE as possible. Take your own money and throw it in a savings account and you can make 3%. yeah, it's not much money even if you do since 2006, WTF!?! BUT DON"T GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY!!!!!!!!!!
Then again, it is your money, so do as you wish. Just please consider what I have said.janzaruk

No it doesn't. It says Early 2008, then world wide release. If I were able to screen shot videos I'd show you. It's not Winter 07. I don't know where you guys are getting this from.

To answer your question depending on where you go you can preorder it. I have been trying to preorder it for the last 6 months. And no gamestop employees do not know what they are talking about. I know I was an employee at one and I quit because they are all xbox 360 lovers.

But if they do make a special edition, get two copies and keep on sealed.

Subsistence LE is going for 150-200 bucks on ebay at the moment.

I haven't seen a sealed copy of Substance in a year.

Gamestop/EB started taking preorders for Halo 3 way before its release because the release date had been announced and set in stone way before its release. There has been no release date annoucned for MGS 4, aside from Q1 2008, as soon as an actual date is announced and is entered into the system Gamestop/EB will begin taking preorders. By the way I work for EB.

I'm not sure but I think there will be a special edition from the get go, just getting extra stuff. After all, they've done the "Substance thing" twice now to make a better version of it. But I think everything will finalized with MGS4 considering it's the "be all end all" game. (meaning no Substance Edition)

The Winter 2007 thing is posted on the Konami TGS site. Not sure if its a typo or not, sent an email to Ryans podcast to ask him if it was or not, hope he reads it.
