When Resistance 1 first came out, it held it's own very well. It was good, but after you played the second one or Call of Duty 4 & 5, you are going to hate the first Resistance. It is one of those games that doesn't age very well, the graphics are very poor, it has the old "health bar" system, no cutscenes, a third person narative, it is very long and repetitive, and it just isn't as fun anymore. It also has a different control scheme (no running/sprint, the zoom button and style is different, etc). I would say no, it isn't worth going back to. It is a very different game. Just goes to show you how much Insomniac changed for the second one, it is drastic. It plays so much different.
Definitely, I personally enjoyed the single player campaign much more in original Resistance then in the sequel, however the multiplayer is absolutely outstanding in Resistance 2.
Resistance is today in greatest hits which means you can find it for 29$. Even after you finish the game, the second play-through will unlock new weapons to use.

I agree...Rich1631 said everything you need to hear.,..R2 is just way better and you won't enjoy the first one as much because of all the things that Rich mentioned
