i did not like metal gear solid 4

it upsets me :(...i played 1,2,twin snakes all the way through and loved them but for some reason i cannot get into the 3rd one or the fourth one. Alot has changed since the first two and twin snakes, their just not the same.....the fourth one is awesome, but i just cant play through it, i tried the 3rd one, but i cant get through it also, the gameplay has changed alot on the last two.

the new one is hard to explain, i just dont feel the metal gear i used to play, i love the 3rd person camera though its awesome, i guess i dont have the patience for all the sneaking around anymore

I also didn't think four was "the greatest game of all time" (as many fanboys have been saying) or even the great MG title. That would go to either MGS1 or 3. However, honestly, little has changed gameplay wise, so I'm not sure what your beef is. I thought the the plot of 4 was, well, cheesy and bad. That's why I didn't like it.AdmiralDan

The Twin Snakes absoultely sucked. If you like that better than 3 and 4 I don't know what to say.

Maybe you ran through most MGS 4 at easy, but not on the harder level, unless you've played the game quite a few times, but even there... Without saying it's the best game ever or the best game in the series. I'll say that it's one if not the best game released so far. The mechanic is well done, the gameplay is incredible the graphics are amazing, that game has it all imo.

Regardless of whether or not the TC enjoyed it isn't up to me but I must say that MGS 4 is my favorite followed by MGS.

I loved 1, 2, and hated 3 as well.

4 is pretty good. The story wasn't very good once you got to Act 4 though, it kind of fell apart. The whole Meryl and Johnny thing wasn't needed at all. Gameplay is awesoe, and MGO is pretty damn sweet.

I wouldn't give it a 10 though, I would rate it between 8.7-9

I am working on my second playthrough currently, so I can get the big boss emblem.

Twin Snakes is currently the best MGS game out of the series IMO.

I would love to see remakes of Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2 Snakes Revenge.

Maybe because the style of the game have changed. We used to play the game as stealth from the beginning till the end, but in this one there are millitia, resistance, etc. Ithink it should be attractive I liked too much.

That is exactly what has changed. Now, you don't have to sneak like in the last one. Hideo has opened up the gameplay to first timers of the series and made it appeal to a wider audience.

Snake can still hide and creep, and stealth around, but now he doesn't always have to. You CAN go in guns blazing with an M60E4 LMG, you CAN use an RPG on infantry if you like, but at the same time, you will be missing some of the suspense of creeping around with a stun knife and a silenced pistol.

Your call. I'd say wait a few weeks then start the game from the very beginning again. Oh, and one more thing. There is no shame in playing the game on Liquid Easy! I did, and i have just recently finished finishing it on Solid Normal ;)

2 was my favorite. I don't remember 1. I hated 3 and 4.

while its changed quite abit, the core of the game is the same and act 4 is just memorable, and i think 4 was the best then 3 then 1 then 2 but i still liked all of them. and i know what you mean symphonycome there are lots of excuses if people don't agree with opinion. like the term 'fanboy'shadowkiller11

MGS4 has one of the more mature storylines available in video games - most other stuff looks WAY worse in cutscenes and has WAY WAY WAY worse dialog. MGS4 is a GOOD story for a video game....you've got it backwards... I'm not sure what you're getting at here. This sort of thing in games should be encouraged *boggle*

how could you hate 3? give a valid reason? why? because it is a needed part of the story and without 3 you have NO Metal gears at all because guess what? without snake in MGS3 there would be no MGS1 2 or 4 or even the next one.

I didn't like MGS 4. They tried way, way, way too hard to make it depressing. And I didn't like how sneaking wasn't as important as it used to be. A lot of times I just ran from one end of the map to the other with no problem.
