I mean just read this its incredible i thought Bethesda would be incredibly lazy with the PS3 version yet they are working there butts off to make it look better than the 360 version. I mean the 360 version (correct me if im wrong) has been in development longer than the PS3s version yet the PS3 Version is a port but it looks better than the 360 versions. Which gets me to think that devs (for example Call of duty 3) have been lazy with the PS3 version of games. I mean i read a recent interview from a Bethesda dev and he seemed like a total 360 yet the PS3s version of oblivion looks better. I mean i remember when bethesda released vids of the 360 version with soft shadows and all but when i bought it the soft shadows were missing why was this so? I mean if devs work hard at a PS3 version of a game they can make it look the same (or in the case of oblivion even better looking than the 360 version)

Here are my questions in case you got confused with my post

  1. Why does the PS3 version of oblivion look and run better than the 360 version?
  2. Why did many PS3 games at launch looked worse than their 360 counterpart?
  3. If Insomaniac creators of resistance fall of man managed to create a great multiplayer experiance and Epic games are releasing unreal tournament 3 which is mainly a multiplayer game then why cant devs make an effort to include multiplayer in PS3 games (EX virtua tennis PS3 VS Virtua tennis 360)?

it costs a lot of money! some companies just don't want to loose too much! some are just cheap like that :P Maybe once the PS3 userbase grows other companies will make better ps3 ports so that they can make more money

Yeah, with a target market of 2mil for PS3 and 10mil for X360, devs can afford to spend more on a 360 game because they can make more back on it.

At console launches, developers are especially tempted to make crappy ports because the selection of games is so small, enough people will pick it up anyways. In most other cases, the developers are just lazy and don't want to invest the resources to make a good port. In the case of Virtua Tennis, I would think Sega doesn't want to host and maintain the servers (because on the 360, this is done by MS afaik, that's why XBL costs a fee)
