#1 I can't afford to buy probably 98% of the cars of some of these racing games. Also, I think people just have different tastes. I like to play both to be honest, it just depends on what mood I'm in.

I don't think there's gate on arcade style racing games... I think they have both their own groups of fan. If need for speed is any indication beeing one of the biggest racing games. I love burnout but it doesn't do as well as NFS in sales. Then you look at Forza and GT... and both series do very well. There's a big fanbase for both styles of racing...

Who cares?  Let people play what they want.  I for 1 love arcade racing games but I'm not going to complain if someone likes GT5 as long as I can play Sega Rally or Dirt.  :)

I'm a fan of both honestly. There's sometimes when I want to take a 90 degree turn at 120mph just for the hell of it haha.

Sim racers are good because like someone said they allow you do experience track racing with ridiculously expensive cars or track fees which could get pretty expensive by themselves.

Meh, racing sims are way too boring to me. no ongoing traffic or adrenaline rush like speeds

and IMO the GT-HD game on PSN assured me that racing sims to be played on a console are a joke.
Surely i dont have a A grade forcefeedback steering wheel/setup.

The only fun/fantasy racer i like is Wipeout otherwise it's Dirt (nice) and Gran turismo. theres more skill involved in realistic drivers. Burnouts crash juction is cool but being able to wall hug around corners without causing a crash is so stupid.IMO

If I'm reading this right, it seems you're talking about people who bash on Arcade style Racers over Sim Racers is mostly in Sim forumns (this is only a guess). There are 2 major differences between a Sim and Arcade Racer: Sim is definitley going to be more difficult as it demands true racing and concentration to drive. As for arcade Racers there not a whole lot of penalty for crappy/out of control driving and just straight ballz to the walls (literally in burnout and need for speed type games). So if people start talking arcade racer in a Sim Racer forum I can see why its getting bashed and kinda vice versa.

If realistic driving is not your thing, stick to the arcade type. Oh yeah, and why people "dont u just go real life racing" is because it's more expensive than you may realize, it is not easy to get into many race curcuits, alot of the illegal street races get busted, speeding tickets are not cheap, it's definitely not cheap to travel all around the world to most of the tracks in Sim racers, and reallyhow many people do you know that can just go out and buy a $100,000 car?

I always liked the Ridge Racer Series. I hate racing sims. I can drive a car in real life, and rather have the thrill of exaggerated physics and mindblowing explosions:D

I dont. I hate real racer that are not real "I cant stand that." Because if your going for real, it better be good." But I love MX vs ATv unleashed. And hope the new one will be good. NFSU is fun. Although vary unrealistic. I thought 2 was the best in that series for that time. The only problem I have with Motostorm is I want to see more structured series and points, and more stats and stuff. And a tad bit more changes. Like a snow area, and a series that takes place in the jungle or whatever. Away from that, the outline of the basic game look amazing and plays well.

Its also depends on the game. Some games work with a little bit of realism bent in with the arcade, some work the other way around. But some do it and are bad games, some do it and are not.
