there is most likely something within the options, music within your hard drive will not play automatically. What else did this update bring? Is this the night level and motorcycle update?
It may be similar to Super Stardust HD, in which case, you'd need to go to the audio options and select Custom Soundtrack or something... I'm sorry I can't be much more help!
