Im looking to upgrade my ps3 60 gig to a 160 gig, thing is i dont want to lose all my data, such as games, saves, ps2 mem cards, whats the best solution?

A) save things to memorystix which would require me to go out and buy a couple of 4 gigers

B) get an external hardrive instead (thing is i dont know how this would work, does the ps3 automaticly read the drive like a plug and play)

Or C) ummmmm maybe you could fill this one out.

I would love some insite from people who have done this already thanks for the help.

An external hard drive would work fine. Best option in my opinion.

Well yes you can use an external harddrive with the ps3, so that may be the easiest solution. Another option, would be to get a big flash drive like a 2 gig or more, they have become cheap, you can get a good 2 gig for less than 20 bucks, and then save your stuff to that. From there you can even transfer it onto your pc, if need be. Depending on the amount of content you have on your ps3 hdd, you may need to make more than one trip transferring back and forth, but i dont think it should be too much of a problem. Hope this helps.
