just one drop landed on the square button. immediately i turned the controller upside down but i guess the damage was done now my square button is sticky and slow. can i open up the controller and maybe clean it out? or is that bad.

Don't bother opening it up, you'll regret it. The square button will sort itself out over time. Relax!
itll sort itself out over time. how long depends on how much got in.
and ive opened my ps2 controller to fix my x button (didnt come back up at all) and after it worked fine
but why were you eating and playing? tisk tisk tisk:(

oo no sugar and water!! lol
do it on your kitchen table and very carefully pull one side straight up slowly leaving the othr part on the table (unscrew it first)
than dab at it to clean it (dont wipe you might move something outa place and not realize)
than making sure everything is in the right place put it back together and screw it back together
than your done
