twice, I ended up in spots that you can get stuck in. this is very frustrating because I don't save very often.
just hopping along and end up stuck between two rocks. How frustrating!!

Whahahahaha....just save more. I got stuck too I jumped around for a min and when I couldn't get out I just went back to last save. I've learned from my mistake though...don't plop between rocks.

You know...all games have glitches, especially large games like Oblivion. I just can't believe people havn't learned to save more. I keep cycling 4 save game files. Usually the first one is before I start a quest and the last of the 4 is at the end of the quest.
Once I was planing to steal some things from the mages guild and thought to save it but figured it would auto save as i entered. having seen the auto save i figured i was good and went about stealing things but someone caught me and before i could do anything i was booted from the mages guild and sent outside which made a new auto save :S I had to go back about three hours to my last save :(
About getting stuck, I've gone into third person mode and found that helps a little, I've always gotten unstuck.
Save often and carry the Boots of Springheel Jak with you always. Very useful in vertically lifting yourself out of tight situations :)
I had them on in a mission where my inventory was taken away from me. The +50 to my jumping ability is now permanent!
Why don't I save often? I do, when I'm in a quest or dangerous things, but I was just walking.
Why didn't you just fast travel? I would have, but it said there was an enemy near by. it was just near the castle, I hopped into a little spot between two rocks, the other time was in a dungeon, and just a weird thing with a wall and a rut in the floor.
I often go near the walls, because most of the traps don't hit you if you are along the wall, plus you sneak better in the walls dark shadow.
I've gotten stuck a number of times on rocks, usually inside Oblivion gates (not sure if that really makes a difference), but I just move sideways back and forth while jumping and that has always worked. Though, one time I got stuck and hadn't saved and boy was I sweating, after like 10 mins I finally got unstuck. Whew! I thought.
