twice, I ended up in spots that you can get stuck in.  this is very frustrating because I don't save very often.

just hopping along and end up stuck between two rocks.  How frustrating!!

That happened to me once, took me about 7 minutes to get out, but I did, just keep walking in one direction and jump every so often and eventually your character will lift up.

I've done that twice. Took me about 45 seconds to get out. Another time, I went down a trap door (without lockpicks) and when I went to leave you needed a lockpick. Being that I did not have a lockpick I was like WTF!? So when I reset the console I hoped it didn't autosave and it didn't. Man I will never travel without a lockpick again!

Whahahahaha....just save more. I got stuck too I jumped around for a min and when I couldn't get out I just went back to last save. I've learned from my mistake though...don't plop between rocks.

just hopping along and end up stuck between two rocks.  How frustrating!!

You know...all games have glitches, especially large games like Oblivion. I just can't believe people havn't learned to save more. I keep cycling 4 save game files. Usually the first one is before I start a quest and the last of the 4 is at the end of the quest.

I agree.  If you don't save often, then you are asking for trouble.  I know I should save more often than I do, but I keep one save from the last time I leveled up, and another that I use before I start a quest or before or after I do something important, or just something I don't want to do over.  I should keep one more for before a quest, just in case I want to replay a certain event or scene, but I haven't yet.  Anyway, DO NOT RELY ON AUTOSAVE.  You are bound to trigger some glitch that will force you to start over your 100+ hour character.

Once I was planing to steal some things from the mages guild and thought to save it but figured it would auto save as i entered. having seen the auto save i figured i was good and went about stealing things but someone caught me and before i could do anything i was booted from the mages guild and sent outside which made a new auto save :S I had to go back about three hours to my last save :(

About getting stuck, I've gone into third person mode and found that helps a little, I've always gotten unstuck.

yeah i got stuck once too.  really made me mad.  about saving, i too learned my lesson.  i am a real scatterbrain, so i was doing all the missions at once, whenever i felt like it.  one of the missions for the thieves guild, i was attacked by someone in the mages guild, and i killed them which still led to me being booted from the guild.  had i saved, i would have been able to load from that spot and complete that mission from another angle and avoided that person.  or just run like hell away from them!

Yeah thats one of the most common glitches in gaming history. But after suffering from it in several games, one gets to know how to survive it.

I wish that the Imperial gear set that the Imperial Guards wear leveled up with them, or was at least, better than it is.  I'd like to wear it on my character so I could walk around like I'm an Imperial Guard, but I'd probably get myself killed fighting a Minotaur Lord or something.  I see those guards killed off all the time (not by me) and I just sell their gear, which isn't worth much either.  Its no wonder that the Blades weren't able to protect the emperor when they wear paper for gear.

yeah, this has happened to me once and i had to reload.  i wouldn't have the patience to wait five minutes to see if i could get loose.  i have since learned my lesson.  SAVE OFTEN!!! and i usually have several saves during a mission just incase it all goes pear shaped

Save often and carry the Boots of Springheel Jak with you always. Very useful in vertically lifting yourself out of tight situations :)

I had them on in a mission where my inventory was taken away from me. The +50 to my jumping ability is now permanent!

Why don't I save often? I do, when I'm in a quest or dangerous things, but I was just walking.

Why didn't you just fast travel? I would have, but it said there was an enemy near by. it was just near the castle, I hopped into a little spot between two rocks, the other time was in a dungeon, and just a weird thing with a wall and a rut in the floor.

I often go near the walls, because most of the traps don't hit you if you are along the wall, plus you sneak better in the walls dark shadow.

I've gotten stuck a number of times on rocks, usually inside Oblivion gates (not sure if that really makes a difference), but I just move sideways back and forth while jumping and that has always worked.  Though, one time I got stuck and hadn't saved and boy was I sweating, after like 10 mins I finally got unstuck.  Whew!  I thought.

You guys think thats bad? I made a new character and powerplayed through both the Mages Guild quests and the Dark Brotherhood quests. I also had Dawnfang from the Shivering Isles. I got her to about lvl 10. This was over the course of 2 days playing (I didn't turn off my PS3, lol), and wouldn't you know it, I forget to save all of that progress. I got bored with her and made a new character....Yea, she was gone...forever...:(

Nice technique. I'm one of the unfortunate ones that hasn't learned this and keeps to one save through the entire game.
