so which one did you get and how much. does it have a hard drive if so then you spent what 50 less than the ps 3 now by saving 50 dallors your sitting there worrying about rrod. was it worth the 50 bucks not having a blu-ray drive, free on-line, internet access ect. if you got the arcade one with out the hardrive then you did not save money either because you will need a hardrive so you will be buying micro's over price hard drive.
plus did you get a charge and play kit for your 360 controller. these hings add up.
if you spent alittle more you would had every thing you needed out of the box including free on-line.
Oh no please don't do it don't buy a 360...I have to persuade you to get a PS3 or I won't be able to sleep tonight...loggerz*pulls out syringe* I can help you sleep tonight.
we are talking not talking premium edition... arcade :o i know. BUT I HAVE NO MONEY! I AM NOT A RICH KID.GhostOfSparta21yes but if you save what anouther 150 bucks you will get
1. wireless controllers that don't need to change batterys.
2. a hard drive very important this gen when you want to play demo's or music ect.
3. free on-line if your kid i don't think you will be able to pay for it.
4. a reliable system.
5. internet access lol if your a kid having the internet in your room is good for your curious mind.
6. sorry still laughing at number 5
if you still live with parents go to them and ask them for a early x-mas present or birthday and ask for the remaining money. do a few extra things around the house ect. mow some lawns. your buying this with your own money don't you want something that will last.
but it is your call.
we are talking not talking premium edition... arcade :o i know. BUT I HAVE NO MONEY! I AM NOT A RICH KID.GhostOfSparta21Then you are gonna fill up your memory card and buy a harddrive which is an extra $70. Then Live, which is $50 a month. Buy the 40 gig if you wanna save. Try to get the 80 gig. You get a lot of stuff in that bundle. MGS4, 80 PS3, Dualshock 3, free online, free PSN game. Great deal. Seeing how you like God Of War, you are only gonna see that on the PS3. If you aren't impatient, you will be better off. If you just get the cheaper console now, you might regret it later.
What kind of crappy summer jobb do you have? You don't even get $400? If you can barely afford the console how are you planing to afford the games? lol I give up...ikwal
LOL my thoughts exactly!
PS3 price vs the xbox 360 is kinda hard. It depends on the features. Ex. If you want wireless it will cost you extra on the Xbox 360, but the PS3 cost extra if you want it to be in HD since the 360 has the cables, but the PS3 doesn't. So do a little research and you cant go wrong either way.
PS3'S cost too much.. I WAS going to buy one with money from my summer job, but they just cost too much. CAN'T Sony lower the price? gosh!:x i know they wouldn't make a profit if they lowered anymore, so i somewhat understand, but they just lost a potential customer to microsoft.:o hope i don't get RROD.:?GhostOfSparta21Fail

the funniest thing about your list is that you list the harddrive - that being because a huge amount of the people need to spend an ADDITIONAL $100-$150 on upgrading it in order to store the game data + media.
You will only save about $50 bucks. Which you will then in turn spend on X-box live. Good choice.siwelcram
I was going to say this.
I love how this kid's whining about the PS3 costing too much, yet he's getting a 360...
PS3 is a one time fee. 360 costs more in the long run over all, including paying for online. Do your homework. I'm not rich either but you know what I did? I SAVED UP, end of story.

holy crap, i didn't know xbl was $50 a month?? the ps3 is a better value out of the box because of the free online...it doesn't sound like you're going to use the ps3 as a blu-ray player since you are already complaining that the ps3 is expensive and most blu-ray disc cost $20to $35...i mean xbl is gonna cost you around $ 4.00 a month and the extra hard drive is gonna cost about$ 80...so i say if you can wait longer and save a little more money get the ps3, but if you must have one now the 360 is not a bad choice either...
Cry me a river. I have been working since 12. Please go to XBL.siwelcram
where did u work, did child labor laws not apply, wtf

[QUOTE="GhostOfSparta21"]yea, you ranting sony fanboys have made my mind... not to get one. Wave360
Lol, WTF?
Anyways though what i did was my parents payed for what i didnt have and i just payed em off later.
I say get one......there are 360 fanboys here trying to get you not to buy one....
my 360 is a broken paperweight, my ps3 is in use everyday... i feel like anything i put towards the 360, and the year of xbox live that i could only use half of was a waste, plus ps3 is like 100 dollars more? add up all the little xbox add ons and uh, yeah youll see which ones cheeper

Agreed.. The 20 Gig 360 is only 50$ bucks cheaper than the 40g PS3.. And then you gotta pay 50$ for one year of XBOX Live.. so its the same thing. I would really go with the PS3 buddy ^_^

My brother has a 360 and I just got home, so I got to play it for the first time, he pays the money out to get xbox live and really I think it's just not worth it. Honestly blu ray is taking over dvd completely, no I'm not bashing the 360 it's a great console, but I think in the end the PS3 would just be worth it... by the time you spend all the money on everything you need to comfortably play the Xbox.. And this is coming from someone who played a 360 for more than 30 minutes for the first time and that was just 3 days ago :P I have even had people when I'm playing Call Of Duty online on the 360 say they made the wrong choice, xbox live tends to add up, but I do think that live has a pretty stable thing going, I mean there does not seem to be a lot of problems, minimal lag, etc. I'm not sure about sony though online, how are they actually? Any lag, and is it worth it for free, does it seem to stack up to xbox live? Something I will have to find out when I buy one I guess..MikeLirette
1. Blu-Ray will not overtake DVD for at LEAST another 4-6 years. Why would normal people spend $30 for HD movies when chances are they don't have an HDTV? Answer, they won't, and they haven't.
2. XBL doesn't "add up." 50 bucks a year is a problem only to people too young to have a job, and then more often than not their parents foot the bill.
3. PSN online experiences change per game. Some games are awful, some games are great.
To the TC, why didn't you base your decision off of what games are coming out? Who cares about the RROD? The Yellow light of death, disc drive failures, and general hardware failures of the 40gb/80gb PS3's are just as common as the RROD is in today's 360's (Had mine over a year, no hiccups whatsoever). Don't get caught up in a problem that just isn't that big of a deal anymore.
Don't spend your money until you research both the existing and upcoming libraries. Why waste money you worked hard to earn?

1. I agree Blu-Ray will not be overtaking DVD for quite some time.
2. It may not be much, but it does add up (unless math has changed since I was in school) Paying out money on top of other money (ISP) is adding no matter which way you look at it.
3. You can say the same for XBL. I have had a fair share of games run poorly on XBL also.
I do agree the TC needs to do some research on what system best suits him, instead of the whole $50 difference in price.

I had a paper route at 9 years old. That's a job isn't it? lol
I was going to say......I've been working for years upon years. Started with raking leaves and shoveling snow around the neighborhood, added walking dogs, and watching homes when the owners went on vacation. Got my first "real" job at 15 (parents signed an agreement) and made a decent amount working tech supoort for a timeclock company. Wasn't able to make much, but when you have no bills (again I was fifteen. I, technically, had two expenses: My cell phone and a pet rat (part of the deal of getting one was that it be my responsibility. I was raised well:D). When so little money is going out the door, it's easy to save.
Not trying to knock the TC here (even if they deserve it), but if money is an issue, seriously, get a job. It really isn't that hard. Having worked for so many years, I just can't accept "it's hard to save up" as a valid excuse anymore.
