I got a PS3 finally but...

the one i got for free yes free from my cousin is a 60gb Japan version. For one i cant read anything on the box. Cause it is is Japanease. Here are my question i have.

1. how is it different than the english version? Like will i still be abale to play american versions of the game on this one?
2.Since my cousin already put a psn account can i make a new one on my ps3 or do i have to delete his? (i have his password and account name)
3.will the language be American or Japanease?
4. does anyone here use a japan version?
5. while trying to read the box there were some parts in english it said ( for sale and use in Japan only) Does this mean i cant even use it here?

5. Probably. You should be careful when using "japanese" electronis and such as they could short circuit or blow up or something.

#5 is not true Japan is the same voltage as here and even if it wasn't the ps3 is dual votage. Some games and most movies are region locked so you might not be able to play/watch some things.

if region locked this is not good. Oh boy. This sucks if i want to play a hyped gamelike gta and it wont work that will truly suck. Another question 6. Will I still be able to play American ps2 games? ChiefMahwoo

I believe all ps2 games are region encoded so it would not work :( sorry bud.

PS3 games are all region free. PS/PS2 games are still region locked. So is DVD films and Blu-rays films.

and 2 my cousin alrewady used it so its alrwady english set (kinda)

u got to user selection and press triangle and select delete. and there ya go~i think if u delete a suer it also deletes its psn account...so try it out..

i delted accounts and now made my own. Just name not psn account. Im seeing if ps2 games will work and sure enough it wont work due to region restrictions. I cant use ps2 games. I hate to do this but have to sell this ps3. I cant use it.
