Horizon just got a huge price drop in Europe. I bought it about two days ago.

The story starts pretty good. As it shows Alloy as young girl that everyone on the villiage hates her, and her decision to train. All the start remind me a few Disney movies. The moment when she is a baby and when Rost rise her on the cliff- Felt like Lion King. On the other hand, the training remind me Tarzan (it even had the section when Tarzan rolls and by instant grows up). I also like Alloy. Altough she is a bit dull, she has a strong respect for Rost.

The gameplay is great. I like how the game has a respect for the player, as it suggest the player already played many games and already knows the genre basic gameplay without giving you a boring tutorial (that being said, it may be a flaw for those who are new to gaming).

Other than that, the gameplay is open world genreric, with the same things many games done like Witcher 3 (the game has the same "Witcher Sense" mechanic), And Assassin Creed (Jump kill, Stealth kill, altought in Horizon it is not a basic skill). But the game has some unique features like the rope traps (if it done on other game, my bad. I didn't play a game with this feature).

I don't want the post to be long, so let's disccus.

HZD is one of my top games of all time. I invested around 76 hours into the game and enjoyed every minute of it. The story becomes more interesting the further you get into the game. If your only a few hours into it im not going to spoil anything.

I,ve got the plat for that game. It is amazing. Aloy do have a personality and what is cool is the side missions do fit her personnality unlike other openworld game filled with whatever random side mission that have nothing to do with what is going on nor fit you caracter or they are basic fetch quest

And some side quests are important toward the last story mission which is very cool.

One thing i will say is that i feel Rost should get a prequel DLC. The short time he was in the game showed that he has a lot of character and his back story would make for a great addition to the game.

@Black96Z: I would actually be all for this. After hearing his backstory later in game, an expansion where you get to play through that would be awesome.

I'm about 12 hours into the game and I love the gameplay and those graphics on my oled tv look sick especially with HDR.

The graphics are indeed amazing. I love how the game use a lot of red color for its graphics. It is just so beautiful. There was another section when I played on nightime, and the moon shined with blue-green color. It reminds me a lot the unique weather in Witcher 3. so beautiful

I think HZD has a lot more in common with Rise of the Tomb Raider than The Witcher. Game play feels very much the same, both have female leads who primarily use a bow & arrow for hunting. both scavenge for parts and craft their tools, both have you raiding tombs, same stealth mechanic. The thing that separates them for me is I enjoyed HZD's story more than RotTR just slightly. I gave RotTR a 91 and HZD a 95 iirc.

Either way, the game gets better after you cross the wall. Also don't forget to climb to the top of Faro tower to get the power cell when you're there, you'll need it to get the special armor towards the end of the game.

The game gets better as you progress through the story, 2-3 hours is extremely little time to judge the Horizon. Especially when you unlock more core abilities, additional hunts and side quests, new environments and enemy types, acquire new skills and strategies to fight, etc..

It's a fantastic game.

I'm also new to the game but turn off all huds except the aiming (which is up to you but it's hard without it to hit specific targets since you'd be pretty much going "is this is the middle of the screen?"

But yeah, also I've been playing it heavily stealthy, I think more so than the trap weapons that the aiming at specific body parts to get more damage and crafting stuff is cool, the game is like a high budget monster hunter style game that has rpg elements.

I've done everything more or less in the first area including some randomly hunting, I'm at the save point right after you go through the gate and meet that one guy.
