I went and got my money back on SOCOM. I'm getting sick of shooters so I'm getting golden axe instead. I've been checking out videos for this game and it looks pretty cool.
I totally agree with you on the part where you said SOCOM is so bad that they should NOT release it but golden axe instead out of all the billions of games in october? ... what eva man its your choice.

yes theres a lot of shooters out there, but none are as tactical as SOCOM

They're still working out the bugs. And believe me, when they do, all of us who bought it will be laughing at you crybabies while we're enjoying one of the best shooters coming out this fall.
I don't like the idea of open betas this generation... People dont understand what BETA means its not DEMO its a BETA all betas are usually glitchy as hell that is the whole point of them so the game doesnt do that. seems like this generation betas are becoming like demos and people dont understand thats not what they are intended for
I really like Socom. Its an excellent mix between MGO, COD4 and CS source. It'll be a lot better when Slant Six gets off of their asses and fixes the problems the last patch created.
Betas are meant to aid in troubleshooting the servers. The developers had months to play/create 16 vs 16 games that probably ran smooth as hell, because they were the only 32 people playing! BETA tests are a toll that points out problems with the servers when they are overloaded, so the issues can be fixed.
I don't think Socom will be "fixed" when it's released, but a patch will soon follow (just like RB6V2) that WILL make it the best shooter available.
Yea there are alot of shooters out there now, and i really do think SOCOM will get over shadowed by other shooters. I for one would rather have Resistance 2 or Gears of War2, but if you whan somthin a lil diff i would at least go with Fallout3. Golden Axe thats your choice man, I will be getting Fable2 and LBP to stop my shooter craze fro now.
Yeah Golden Axe looks realy cool I like hack n slash anyways. After playing COD4 for 10 months I'm realy sick of guns. The only other game I might pick up this fall is Fallout3.
I was about to take my money back BUT the last 1.5 patch pretty much fixed all my major gripes up. The biggest lag issue at this point is those servers are not the servers tehy will be running for release. Given that this is a peer2peer connection like most 360 run game the main servers used for beta are rackmounted xenon servers ... they have quad opterons that will be used for running the actual games stats etc so all that chug and slowdown WONT be apparent in game. Never judge a game based on beta .... secondly this is why i think preording a freaken game is utter crap ... honestly why? I dont think they should give out preorder incentives such as a beta key because people are just going to treat it as a demo ... not a BETA ...
Your Right laggy isn't just it lets say your net is down for a while that means no online what good is the game then $40 plus bux for just a oline game is bull but i guess if you been a olny child all your life and have on friends then this simple run and gun game is for you...i'll wait for the full game..psn name .IRRITUM

I agree Most people do miss the point of a beta I think they should take the time ti explain why they are doing the beta
I don't like the fact that it has no single player campaign or even a story to play co-op in. Lame if you ask me. look at all the other shooters coming out....story and great online.

Golden axe looks terrible. I assume you have played a lot of shooters. You should try Metal Gear Online. It's a shooter but with a nice twist. It is the ONLY shooter that I have played and enjoyed. If not, then get a bunch of PSN games instead of golden axe. Seriously man.

After watching videos on Golden Axe I like the art design. I'm dieing for something with swords instead of guns. I like games with some creative art desing rather then running around shooting at things. Although I've had MGS4 since launch but haven't played it since. I only made it to the 4th act and I havne't even touched the online portion. I can't wait for god of war 3 and team Ico's next project. I swear there are 30 shooters for every one of these games. I'm gonna play Metal Gear tonight I want to finish it so I can sell it.
I switched my reservation to Far Cry 2 after playing the beta. The graphics are terrible they look only slightly improved over PS2 and the gameplay is pretty typical of that genre nothing to get excited about. It looks to me of all the high profile shooters being released in the next couple months SOCOM is probably the worst. I did like the motion sensitive leaning and ducking though.
Beta does have some issues, however once they are resolved, it will be a outstanding game.
Those who keep pressing the misinformation of SOCOM: Confrontation graphics didn't play the beta, which look sharp and solid, or need new pair of clean glasses.
well i its toss up for me its ok but iam pushing towards RE2 and ninja strom and plus if ya internet goes down then socom is useless and if i do get it its jus 4 for the headset
if there is no lagg i will buy socom :) but i played every single of them from socom 1 to combined assault and all fo them lagg at some point. this game use to be 8v8 maps medium more fun etc on the last couple 32 players maps huge less fun.
so you start in your base and travel 20, 30 sec to meet enemy bang you dead then travel again and die travel again boringggggggggg. they need to fix that so there is allways some action going on . 90 % of gunz are garbage nobody even use them all yo uneed is AK 47 and M4A1(sd)and stop making them so weak 3 bullets in upper body should be enough to take down oponent not 30 !
