some people say that the PS3 is unreliable. Mine was the original 60GB model and it has lasted me 2 and a half years with no complaints, i don't see this as unreliable. I got the yellow light yesterday and was wondering if anybody new any cheap places to get it repaired as sony is £100 (i think). preferably near the midlands.

It's in a better place now , and btw people never said ps3 is unreliable thats the 360 , and you can fix it your self if you want , just look up yellow light of death fix on youtube theres a good tutorial , but if you don't care much about BC i suggest you get the slim .

Sonydon't ask questions. Give them a call. They might ask if it's out of warranty (mine was) but they took it in and fixed it regardless.

The number you want is 08705 99 88 77. You may get lucky and not be charged, mine broke after a year and the replacement was free.

There's a UK, European and US number, a different one for each place. They'll be online somewhere. If your warranty actually is out and you say it isn't they don't ask for anything just say you've had it for less than a year eg. Got it in September. Don't know if they'll ask for a receipt! :)

so basically most 60 gb will fail? I hope my 160 gb doesnt, that is the bundle that came with uncharted 1. I believe that all those vents the 60 gb has , contributes a lot to dust entering ,thus causing overheating. When they opened my 60 gb as the place they fixed it, it had veryyy thick layers of dust, BUT the surface and vents itself was clean because I thought i was maintaining it proper. I fixed that console 5 times and it failed and sold it after the 6th. Let it be someone else's pain
