i gots me a ps3 today!

well i got a ps3 and a 27" hdtx today.its great ps3 is brilliant.

just a few qoustions:

1.i have madden 07 and it flickers a bit-is this the ps3,tv or game?

2.at the start the ps3 was hot-is this normall?

3.what position is better standing up or lyind down?(no sex jokes:P!)

oh ya almost forgot the guy in gamespot kept sayin wow it so much money and when i was leavin he goes its such a wast of money.jerk!

2. It gets warm/hot. Thats normal, the fan kicks in and keeps it running smooth. The fan is not noisy so thats a plus.

3.I keep mine laying horozontal. It really doesnt matter from what I hear. But just to be safe, that no ones bumps my PS3 or something like that. Its just a safety thing..

1. It must be yout T.V it must not have HDCP. Or Madden has alot of glitches.

2. It is normail but after 100 hours it does not get hot as much,

3. It depends standing up is better because heat rises up but if it will not be stable put it horizontal.

As for the flikering have you gotten the latest firmware update. This may create a problem with some games. Also there are settings in the main menu and there may be settings on your TV as well. Or there may even be something about the TV causing this. Can you let us know what jind of TV it is maybe some of us could help in detail.

There is no reason to bring up the 360. This isn't system wars.

Anyways I own two PS3 games and have gotten probably 250 hours if not more out of them. Reistance Online and Oblivion is all I need. I have played other demos and only gaiden impressed me. But Gaiden and Rainbow 6 come out soon so there will be 4 strong games on the system. O yeah and I already have 6 blu-rays that are incredible. If your bored with a PS3 there must be a problem theres plenty to do and much more on the way.

I would have turned right around asked for the Manager, and returned the PS3 games and all. And then let them know they lost a sell because of that guy.... And then bought a PS3 at another store. They would lose my money if they acted that way to me.

It is absolutely amazing to me that this goes on, however i am somehow not surprised. When i worked at best buy we had such a xbox homer there that was so biased he almost got into a fight with the sony rep.

What people dont understand is that the industry needs two competitive systems, if not then we end up with buggy crap like windows.

the guy that was complaining about the cost is just jealous that he can't afford the luxury that is ps3. his b*tching just shows how much of a b*tch he is, and a jealous one at that.

The game flickering is your tv, if you have an older or even a newer but crappy tv, it will flicker. i use my ps3 on my 20" widescreen computer monitor to get 720p and every game looks great.

it is probably better to have it standing, but i wouldn't imagine it would matter. also if you notice, the heat is on the OUTSIDE of the system, if you were to open it up you'd notice that the heat is moved away from the internals - which is where the 360 has problems - poor heat dissipation, despite the loud a$$ fan.

the reason madden is screwing up is because its a bad port, red dev interviews, they dont want to dev for ps3 becausethere lazy and not taking advantage of the technology, the ports end up bad, i remember playing nba 2k7 which had problems a bit like this.sonic0491

but yeah its why all 3rd party games on ps3 are gimicky here and there, you know whats stupid, oneday when the ps3 is killer with lots of good devs and games and maxed out hardware knowledge i wish sony would turn thier backs on them.

I traded my 360 for a ps3, couldnt be happier with the decision.

get resistance the first ps3 game to go multi platinum( sony confirmed 2 million sold and a couple of week ago it was 1.3 million, thanx to ther Church of England fiasco).

Oh and if u need a stronger wifi signal make it standup it helps.

Well welcome to the club I have had my ps3 since Christmas. Now to answer the questions.

1. I had Madden 07 and it didn't flicker so check out your connection from the tv to the PS3 its probably just the cable.

2.Yeah but you can still play it.

3. I like my ps3 laying down because its $$600 and I dont want to take the risk of braking the machine.

ya that makes sense i dont have any updates as im waiting for ny 10m ethernet cable to come in the post and my tv is 27" hdtv that can run at 1080i max.i use hdmi cables and it runs at 720p

Or ring the head office and freak out, man, you must be a cool customer dude, i would have returned it there and then, told the guy he's a **** head (probably threatened him)and gone somewhere else to buy it. And still would of rung head office. I once told an EB manager thati'll smash his stop up just for offering me $5 trade in on a 3 month old game. hahaha, the look on his face man...priceless.

I like the features that the ps3 offers, i like the free online, i like the future game lineup, I might actually use the bluray someday, and i like my console in my room, not my local repair shop.
