im probably in a minority of 1 in 10 thousand here, but is there anyone else who after they have finished a game and know they will never want to play it again just flog it straight away while the trade in price is still high?

i dont give a crap about having a large game collention, if something is just going to collect dust id rather just trade it in.

I buy most games used and well after the hotness is cooled, so I tend to keep most games now as a trade-in will just remind me what **** eaters resales can be to the consumer...

"That copy of MGS4 gets you $5 in trade..."

Yeeeeaaahh... tell ya whaaaaat...

But this practice also sees me more wise on a purchase... I only have games I wanna play in my collection. I'm still playing GC, PS2, XB, and Dreamcast on occasion, so I don't mind the idea of a larger library. I'll get some use out of it... or my family will...

I do that with games that I did not like. I keep the ones I enjoyed because I usually end up wanting to play them again.

You arent alone my friend.

Having a large game collection does more stress than good for me. When I want to play a game, all of the choices make me feel overwhelmed. It makes it more difficult to focus on 1 single game to play.

Anyway, once I complete a game, i ask myself am i really going to go back and play that again? I could use that time to be playing something different. And yes, you may as well get something back for a game that will just MOST LIKELY sit and collect dust.

I do that too, I've had my PS3 since March 2007 and I've only got around 4-5 games as of now because I keep trading them in for something else. Sometimes I think to myself that I want to start a collection, but then I realise that I'm never really going to play these games ever again and I may as well just trade them in.

I tend to keep all my games, but I recently purged some from my collection just to make some money for newer games and clear some space. I knew I would never play them again, so why hang on to them?

I like to keep all of mine. I usually buy them all used for $5-20, and I know that I'll eventually want to play some of them again. It's not worth the $5 bucks I might get for trading them in.

Not to mention my buddies and I like to borrow eachothers games, so its nice that I have a bigger collection that they can choose from.

Some games I probably never will trade, these being the ones that hooked me the most and I enjoyed and could envision replaying sometime in the future. The rest will always have a likelihood that I will trade them in. Especially given I hate paying brand new prices for games that most of the time I rarely enjoy, or aren't worth it in play-time value. Just the other day I traded 4 games and got 2 new games free(both reduced prices, but new, and both turned out great games!). I've got a couple of other games waiting to be traded in once RDR drops in price...if it ever does.

I'm exactly the same way, so don't feel bad. As a matter of fact, I'm worse because I just put them in a pile and sell them all at once when a good game comes out...so I probaly don't get as much money in the long run.

i dont like doin that, cuz i lose alot more money in the end if u really think about it. i mean u buy a game thats 60+.....trade it in for wat 15 or 20 if ur lucky enough and thats with ur edge card. while i understand that some might not play that certain game again. but me i make sure i buy games taht ill like and going to keep, i have over 30+ games. though ill be honest i have traded one or 2 games but ghost busters and street fighter 4( only cuz i got SSF4) but i mainly keep my games whether i playu em down the road or not. like i said i make sure i buy games i want and will keep. games like MGS4, uncharted, god of war, GT5 , killzone 2, demon souls etc etc. games like that ill never trade i just dont have the heart to lol

I only buy keepers at full retail and anything that piques my interest any less is bought used. So between buying games I want to maintain in my collection and games that have low trade or resale value I end up with everything.

If i trade i sell online, id rather just hold onto a game like that rather than get 34% back on a brand new game : \

I've only traded in 1 game. I hated it and I got $20 for it. All the rest, I might play again some day. I went back and played almost all of my PS2 games, years after I finished them the first time. And the games I don't especially care for tend not to be worth anything anyway. Four bucks or something.

I'm kinda shocked that there people that do exactly what you describe. Dont take this the wrong way but you must like pissing away your money b/c that's exactly what you're doing. Buying game new and then selling them soon after makes no sense to me b/c the value you get for the trade in is next to nothing. Now you might say that "well i'm not gonna play the game again so it's better to sell it and use that money for another game purchase." Well that may be true but there are better options out there that dont require you to burn a hole in your pockets. Wouldnt it make more sense to get a gamefly account?? I think the service they provide would be perfect for gamers such as you who want to play the newest game and then move onto something different once their finished. But hey that's just my 2 cents. Maybe you're just so rich that you could care less.

Same here, i only keep the games that i will play again, or the ones worth keeping like uncharted 1-2, Resistance 1-2, killzone 2, god of war 3, cod4, dead space, borderlands , batman, red dead, darksiders. I have right now 21 games, but i would have 30+ if i kept all the ones that i bought.
