I have a feeling that the next GTA after GTA4 will be a PS3 exclusive

I believe that Sony will secure the next GTA after GTA4 as a PS3 exclusive, I don't know why but I reckon that since Sony and Rockstar have been friends since the PS1 days and plus the fact that every GTA game up until now has been a PS exclusive (timed but still an exclusive) it looks that Sony and Rockstar will want to continue their  long-term relationship, after all they are the best of friends.

The reason GTA4 wasn't an exclusive was because Sony were too busy getting PS3 sorted so they didn't have time to contact Rockstar. Rockstar did say that they would like to continue their relationship with Sony but they didn't have feedback from them. Its just amazing that since Microsoft contacted Rockstar before Sony but Microsoft even though they managed to get GTA4 on their console on day 1 they were not able to secure it as an exclusive, I bet that If Sony contacted Rockstar first then GTA4 would have been an exclusive for PS3, hmm just goes to show ya that Rockstar wants GTA to remain on a PS platform.

This time Sony are not going to let the opportunity go past, GTA5 has a good chance to be a PS3 exclusive

What do you guys think, what are the chance of this happening?

GTAIV isn't gong multiplat because "Sony was too busy working on the PS3 to contact them".  GTAIV went multiplat because Sony would not pony up the $ to Rockstar to keep it exclusive.

Yeah.. that was a big announcement for the 360 at E3 last year. Unless something major happens I think it will show up on both platforms as planned at launch.

I am guessing other than first party titles there will not be so many exclusives as there were the last generation.

I doubt that it will be exclusive to the PS3.  Sony didn't pay for GTA4 and MS did.  Simple as that.  As with most users, I agree that chances are most major third party releases are going to be multiplatform if only becasue of the higher costs now.

GTA was always a multiplatform title, it was just a timed exclusive, and I don't too many people outside of SEGA and VF5 are into those anymore.

Yeah, I remember Rockstar presenting GTA3 to MS.  But MS turned it down because they didn't want that kind of image for their system.  Kinda funny how the Xbox brand is actually considered the most "mature" one of three based on the type of games out for it.

just stop please, this is just wishful thinking, Rockstar is going to make a ton of money selling the game on both systems at the same time. after this, there is no going back. Forget about exclusives man, little by little its going to be a thing of the past.

:lol: GTA 4 is practically guaranteed to sell more on the x360 (more consoles sold at the time). So, don't expect any sort of PS3 exclusive unless Sony is will ing to pony-up 100+million.LosDaddie

^Exactly. Most people with both systems prefer multi system games on the Xbox 360 because of rumble, xbox live, achievements and custom soundtracks.

I think it's in that first or second Xbox book.  "Opening the Xbox" or something like that.  Actually, if you look hard enough, you can find the pages from the book posted somewhere on 1up.com.  I don't remember where though since I read it a while back.  But rest assured, neither I nor the other guy are making that up.  It's actually true, MS turned down GTA3 and Sony took it.  I don't think anyone could have imagined how successful the game would become.

What I mean is that Sony and Rockstar have got a history so I believe Sony will have a timed exclusive on the next GTA, you can bet on that :wink:

Im willing to bet hands down now GTA4:2 is going to be like the PS2 releases, first on PS3 then a later port down to 360.teebeenz
