do you guys ever let games get in the way of school? the reason im asking is because last year when i was a sophomore, a cool game would come out like GTA4, and i would have homework. and it turned out that i was too tempted to play it. and so i did and did not finish my homework. ill cut to the chase here. does this happen to you? because im not going to do that this year. this year its school first, games later.

Yeah it happens to me sometimes, usually not enough to impact my grades though. Like you I am trying to change that though and focus on school more.

At least I'm glad it's not a "this game made me kill people," topic. But this is a basic thing that happens to not only gamers, but possible to everyone. But thankfully, I'm not influenced by that temptation. If I were, I wouldn't have graduated from High School. In Senior year, even when I bought a PS3, I played games less than doing homework (no matter how good the games are). Best advice is to go outside for a walk (It makes you think better sometimes), go to the library after and before school, and have tutoring.

I sometimes have and fall for that temptation, especially this coming fall and year with all the new games coming to the PS3. I really just need to fight the urge and concentrate on whats most important, however, and thats school.

Nice thinking man. The same happens to me but my parents didn't even let me play video games during the week so I had to sneak them when I wanted to play :P

Well, yes school first, then play later. Thing is, when I was in schoo, I'd be on my feet all day. I'd have workout class every semester or a spare so I'd be working out and doing cardio for lunch time, my spare, after school. So when I finally get home, I'd be so damn tired that I'd just fall on my bed and be fast asleep. A lot of the days, or most days I'd forget about dinner too since I'd be too tired to move, and I never ate breakfast. Well, I learned now lol, though there were days that I gamed a lot to midnight and then having to wake up about 6 hours later that would suck bad. It happened when I got hooked on WoW that I always gamed to midnight or later and then worry about sleeping when I get home the next day. So I never did homework really, but I did ace tests with no struggle, and same thing with in class assignments, since they were easy and I'm just good like that. So don't do what I did, get your education first, then you can play later when you have time off.

I typically don't do my homework anyway. I'll be a junior in college this coming semester and I've still got my 3.6GPA, just find a way to sling enough bull to get an A- and you'll be fine.

and giving into that temptation is going to be harder than last year because of all the great games that are coming out in the fall. Far Cry 2, Mercs 2 on the 31st, LBP, COD5. i can go on all day.:P

Yeah i tend to inject the heroin first or clean my crack pipe, then i focus on the gaming..Ha Ha Ha.Its about time management young blood,if you want to lead a consistently constructive life which is full of the stuff you like to do and stuff you feel you have to do then plan it out, fail to plan plan to fail.Between now and Christmas it's gonna be allot harder to study.

Well I'm moving off to college in a few weeks and I'm leaving my PS3 and Wii at home because I really need to focus on my school work. I only live maybe 20 minutes away from my college so I'll still be able to come home and play on the weekends. :D

hmm... Good question.. I usually don't ever do homework.. I score high enough on tests and quizes I can go without doing such boring activities at home.. Besides, I work, I don't have time for that stupid crap, luckily this is my final year of that nonsense.

Games don't get in the way of school! School gets in the way of games!

...

J/K :P

...

Seriously, though, I'm a procrastinator when it comes to schoolwork, and oddly enough, when I know I have homework to do, I never play video games, but I don't do my homework either. I just sort of sit there and wait until I absolutely must start doing my homework. For some reason I simply can't work efficiently until I'm literally running out of time to finish. Even when I do try to start my homework early, I do some miniscule portion very slowly, and then, after an hour or so, I feel like I've accomplished a lot even when I've accomplished very little in reality. I just can't seem to figure out what's wrong with me - that's the way I've been my whole life.

what you really need to do is find a way to do as much homework as you can during lunch or break times. that is what i do and that gives me the time to play games as much as i like. and if you can't do that see how much you leave till the weekend then one evening our something do it then. it works for me.

You'll enjoy your games more once you've finished all your homework.
