I don't think it really needs one, that why it has all the bad reviews but if you want one buy it.

I've never used a PS3 Cooler before so I can't recommend it. I would rather recommend you to keep the PS3 in a well ventilated area. If you have an air conditioner, have it on to keep the air cool or have a fan running to circulate the warm air.

honestly, i would say keep in in an open space (i.e. not contained in an entertainment center) and it should be fine.

You dont have a problem until the PS3 shutsdown randomly. There is an overheat protection circuit built in, so it shuts off before damage occurs. If this start happening, then I would look into this cooler personally,

I have the Air Flo Cooler and it works fine. I have had it for around a year or so and haven't had any problems.

The PS3 really doesn't need a cooler because the cooling system built in is very advanced over other systems. If you want to lower the internal tempertures then standing the PS3 vertical tends to work better than anything else you can do. The reason is the most heat is generated around the disc drive area and when the console is horizonal the heat tends to build up under the dome (top) area, where when the system is vertical the heat can escape through the vents that are now on top along with the exhaust vents in the back of the console.
