I pretty much know as much about MGS as an infant knows about how to use a toilet. I went on a whim this morning to GameStop and bought MGS4 without a reservation and the MGS Essential Collection. I did it in light of all the hype thats been going around about MGS4 for the last 6 months. I'm feeling a bit overloaded about it too. I got home and asked myself "what did in the world did I just commit myself too?". Well, heres to a hopefully enjoyable experience ahead of me *downs a big glass of milk*.

What? Why would you do that? I mean, why not bought the essential collection like a month or two ago. That way you could have went through the games. Wow, very bad decision....I mean or you gonna like play MGS4 than go back and play the other games.

That's great!! Don't feel overwhelmed. If you can get the hang of the first one you'll be fine on the rest. I'm almost done with part 3 myself. But if by some chance you don't like the series you can just return part 4. But I doubt you'll want to.

Have fun:)

Have Fun! I picked up the Essentials back when it came out and though I'd played them before it was a completly enjoyable expereance. I beat them all in preperation for MGS4.

Are you going to play them in order? Or are you going to jump right into MGS4?

I'm thinking about doing this too. No experience with MGS series. Is it worth playing MG and MG2 also? Being that those were early Nintendo games, I'm assuming there isn't much to the story in those games. Thoughts?
