I just can not aim with this thing. I know a lot of people have no issues but it drives me freaking crazy.

I'm a lot better with the 360 controller so I was looking at this one...

POWER A - Pro Elite Wireless Controller for PlayStation 3

Any other options?

You're better off getting used to it. 3rd party controllers are very unresponsive.

Nope I was on the hunt for other controllers as well. I bought 4 or 5 of them and each one had a HUGE dead zone.

They're built with very cheap parts. If you're at all inclined you can buy a 360 controller and take the analogs off the controller board, solder them onto the 3rd party ps3 controller board and the dead zone goes away. I did that but then ran into another problem. The analogs are taller on the 360 and didn't fit. It did get rid of the crazy dead zone though.

I used to not be able to play with the PS3 controller. After forcing my self to stick with it Incan use it with better precision than the Xbox one. I still wish the sticks were layed out and had the same style as the 360 ones. The controller it's self needs to be bigger and the triggers/bumpers need to be made better. Every time I use them I feel like they are gonna break off. I'd say just stick with it. You'll get used to it.

There Ya go! I find it hilarious that everytime the PS3 controller gets called uncomfortable the 360 type controller always is the alternative of "I want something like this". Why not use the WII type controller then? LOL. The only complaint i got for the DS3 is the two analog sticks tip should mold in like the 360's "gasp" and not stick out because 1. it hurts the finger, 2. the thumb slips too easily.

A "dead zone" is the measure of how far you can move an analog stick without the game you are playing registering movement. With the DS3, the dead zones are very small, so almost the slightest movement is picked up. With the Power A, however, the dead zones are rather large, and you have to move the analog stick farther to register any movement at all. It's not a huge problem in some games, but it does slow you down, which can be a major hindrance in FPS games, particularly "twitch shooters" such as COD.

Well I don't dislike it, even if I do prefer the PS3 one (I own both consoles). But seriously, I don't get how you could think that a controller should be appreciated by all and that not liking it is not possible, that's a bit silly, no?

Yea its all a matter of getting used to it...I had to get used to 360 one, which took a bit but now I love it just as much as the dual shock. Practice makes perfect.

That's what I thought but in socom 4 there is no dead space at all.

But that's the only game I have tried so far.

It is possible, i'm just saying I don't get how people COULD dislike it. I didn't say that it's impossible that people could dislike it. Check yo self.

I use this. Works great and it has the thumbs set up like the 360 if that is what you were looking for. Toys-R-Us usually has them in stock. http://www.amazon.com/Afterglow-AP-1-Controller-PS3-Playstation-3/dp/B003ITY8OO/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1307691691&sr=8-4

Go with that Xbox 360 layout controller (there are other ones i sure) I don't bother with 3rd party controllers usually they are not good. I like the Dual shock 3 but not quite for FPS. Otherwise DS3 is a great controller.

Good luck in the 3rd party controller search.

It is so comfortable it feels like it is part of your hands, the ps3 controller is tiny and uncomfortable.
