You are able to play against others online. There are no dedicated servers, so the host is one of the people playing. The connectivity is dependent on the host, so if they have a bad connection, you will lag immensely, or even drop.
Read reviews from youtube, sounds A LOT like Tekken 5, except without the tournament system. (Actaully sounds like it might be a little more laggier too :/ )
The servers are still closed so I havent been able to try. Tomorrow they will be open so I will give it a try. The online has 4 modes so far: Standard Ranked VS, Standard Versus, Special Ranked Versus and Special Versus
