OK well i dont get it and what people say about Monster Hunter. While talkign with fellow PSP'ers at work(gamestop) i get a 50/50 with this game. Tons of people LOVE It and about the same number HAte it. There are no in betweens at all.

So my first question as to i have never played it before, which is better 1 or 2.

After that what turns so many gamers on/off about this game. Why do some say 100hours of gameplay wasn't enough and they wanted more and some say 1 hour was more than enough to send it back?

Im mostly curious cause a game on the PSP that i could like lasting 100hours would make me a very happy boy :)

mm, that last part is true, i have never played it either, but maybe the fact that you can go around the world and collecting stuff, battle the animals, like world of warcraft, with the quests and all that stuff, and the online feature, maybe its that what some people love about it, but i think ill get bored doing almost the same thing all the time, and the fact that you have to feed the character, damn, thats the reason i don't buy tamagochis!!haha, in my conclusion i must say the second one is better, some improvements are worthily

For collection fiends, the game is a godsend, and they both have gorgeous graphics. However, the only way you will get a 100 hours of gameplay is if you enjoy going on hundreds of fetch quests in order to get the perfect ingredients to make slightly better weapons and armor every few hours.

I think 1407 kind of gets to the heart of why most of the people that don't like this series feel as they do -and this is something that is often used to describe the differences between Japanese and US gamers: the game emphasizes grinding, obsessive collecting, and was designed with a "itemization mentality." This, forced grouping and a poor economy is what drove people from FFXI and, in part, it's because WoW does a very good job of not punishing the casual player (most of the time) that it is so huge. Think of it as what FFXII is to the rest of the series but then strip away everything that made FFXII remarkable and you have these games.

I bought it, but I haven't been able to get into it. The graphics are gorgeous and the premise is cool, but I think the lack of a lock on target feature killed it for me. I have a LOT of trouble trying to hunt and adjust the camera etc. I am going to trade it in this week towards my Mario Galaxy reservation :?

I love this game. There really is no way to cheat in the game (unless you are weak and use cheat devices or game saves). If you see someone with a awesome weapon and cool armor, they really are that good to get those things. You go around fighting things sometimes 30 times as large as you. And it only gets more fun when you have a few friends playing too.
