check your wireless connection signal strength. if its in a good range, just use wireless. if not plug in a Ethernet cable to an open slot an play.

No, youll get the same speed through the router. The only time youll loose speed is if you download something on the pc or laptop and try playing a game at the same time.

depends on how far your ps3 is from your router, if your on the same floor as your router you'll be fine as long as you have all your ports open

why do you want to run using a cable?-I tried it and it doesn't do downloads or run any faster? The wi-fi on PS3 is really good and fast.

The up speed seems fine, I don't know why your down speed would have such a huge drop. I'm not sure about the PS3 browser. I would try running that test while the PS3 is connected directly to your modem and see if its the same, if so it's not your router. If its alot faster then check the settings on your router.

If you want to use hard wire not wireless buy a unmanaged switch/hub. Plug the switch/hub into one port on the router. Plug the router into the DSL modem. Then plug any other hard wire devices into the switch/hub.

it also looks like your ISPmight be kinda slow? who do you use? i think you should be ok but a goodt ISP should have a download speed of 1 to 2 mb per second. so it sounds like you night have to hard wire it regardless.(for optimal speed) good luck...
