i just picked up Valkyria Chronicles. did i make a good purchase? opinions?

i picked it up along with a slew of other ps3 games from a flea market for 5 bucks each. i guess for that price you really cant lose either way. but what do you guys think. clearly i was just taking a shot in the dark.

A few people on this board rant n rave about that game, but i tried it out, the gameplay seemed quite tedious, and each battle takes FOREVER, because you had to move the icon along the huge map/wait for your character to run all the way there etc. I swear 1 batle towards the begining of the game took like 50 minutes or so, and if i failed on a boss toward the end of the battle, i had to do it ALL over again. Also the story really never got to me.

I'm gonna be the odd apple here and say the game's enjoyment is solely based on your stance towards Strategy RPGs. I had fun with it until I got to Chapter 11, got bored and frustrated with it by then, sold it, saw the rest of the story through walkthrough videos.

Not saying it's a bad game, it's just not as perfect as people make it out to be IMO. Though at 5 bucks it's a steal.

its a great purchase considering you got it for $5. I got mine for $39.99 and I thought that was the correct price for the game. As I have stated in my review on the game, play the game the way its suppose to be played. Don't play it like a shooter because you'll get frustrated and like the bakeddank420 you'll end up dissapointed. If you're good, it won't take you at least 50 mins to beat each map. if you struggle, youtube it to learn how the experts play the game how its suppose to be played.
