I just YLoD'd

Just nowmy ps3 shut off in the middle of call of duty while my brother was playing. I jokingly said "oh no looks like we got the YLoD!" and laughed. My brother then proceded to press the power switch and BANG its the YLoD just my luck. Can i get some advice on what to do this is the first time it has ever happened to me and im completly clueless. Should i buy a new ps3 or call sony and send it in or what?! PLEASE HELP MEH

Do the fan test and get your disk out if its still in there. Do you care about your saved data? If so you could do a temporarily fix to save your data to a Harddrive.-Hoax-

Do the Fan Test to try and get your disk out. But let your PS3 cooldown first just to see if its over heating because sometimes you can turn it back on.

I lost my 80 GB last Sunday. Luckily we have a Traget card, so I bought a 240 GB Slim ... it's really quiet and awesome so far... bought the 3 year plan just in case - I'm pretty much done with Video games in 3 years anyways

I worked at Best Buy too. The 2 year replacement plan was a JOKE - Target has a 3 year replacement service, which isn't bad ... Like I said - I'll most likely have a family in 3 years, so video games will be be put on hold for a long while. :-)
