I know this probably gets asked alot... should I get a PS3?

Hey all, lately I've been thinking about getting a PS3. I used to be a hardcore PS gamer, having owned both the PS1 and PS2 and played alot of games on both. I then switched to PC gaming after I discovered the wonders of competitive online gaming, but to be honest I'm sick of the PC now. I only want to use it for school, MSN and some WoW. However, I still want to continue gaming casually, and I decided that the best choice would be to get a console.

Also, if I do buy the PS3 I'll make sure to get a good HDTV with it(been thinking about getting one for a while now). Is it worth it? Should I wait til later?

(ps- I'm a huge MGS/GTA fan, I first started thinking about getting the PS3 just because of those games)

Well, I picked mine up just over a week ago. I got a free controller with it also :)

I love it, and happy it came home with me. So it's up to you if you want it, I highly doubt you would regret it.

Well since its casual gaming then yes, get a PS3 if you want...I'm planning on getting a PS3 once more games start flowing in, for now though, I'm going to keep playing on my 360/PC...

Getting a PS3 is a NO BRAINER. And its YES. you dont have to ask, you dont have to think twice, you wont feel regrets or anything. if you have money buy the 80gb version or the 60gb if you can still find one.

And believe me playing on a 50 in tv is an amazing feeling specially when you play like 4feet away. LOL

I have re-read your post and it seems like you will have a great time with PS3 or any next generation console for that matter. Since you have your eyes on PS3 I honestly can't recommend better time to buy one then this holiday season. The price is good, games are on the shelves.

Since you already had PS1 and PS2 I'm sure you enjoyed most of the great titles that console had provided us over the years. Choosing a PS3 will bring those games and many other with similar fashion. If you enjoyed PS1,PS2 you will love PS3 since you know what to expect.

If previous PlayStation generation of games brought you fun and enjoyment, you can rest assured PS3 will continue to do so :)

[I actually might be missing something - they might actually be including component cable or HDMI cables; not sure, so check up on that]

Anyway, bottom line, GET A PS3!
