Well, I have a DS and i love it. But it is mainly for quick on the go play, and long sessions usually aren't meant for it. I am also sick of all of the kiddy and crappy show/movie licenced, bad graphics games. I want a system that has good long console-like games that can be played for long periods of time and can be easily transported. The psp fits the bill. Question 1: What is the difference between the PSP reg. and PSP slim that makes the slim cheaper and which version is better in your opinion and why?
Question 2: I was wondering what color would be the best and why. (EX: the black shows fingerprints and scratches.) So which one would be best and why in your opinion? Question 3: Are there any necessary accessories I would need?RESISTEE926
Q1: I think by now you've probably gotten your answer as to the differences but mainly smaller and lighter. Advertised as having faster load times but that's yet to be proven as a demonstrable difference. AV out is a plus if your interested in using it to play movies or games on your tv but then why buy a portable system. Redesigned keys and speaker positions are the big pluses in my eyes. Raised keys have a better tactile feel to them and the old speakers tend to get blocked by your fingers while playing the game.My opinion - get a used regular system and save yourself some money. Should be able to find one in the $100-130 range, use the money you save to buy a couple of games to get started.
Q2: Really a personal preference here. As pointed out by others black tends to show fingerprints and smudges but hey that's what they made cleaningclothes for. Only way to get other colors (silver / white) is in the bundles and again...why not save some money get the black and use the money you save to start your game collection. Also as pointed out by someone else...screen protector is a must. Cheap, easily replaced, and will save you from annoying marks and scratches that will detract from your enjoyment and fromresale value later.
Q3: Screen protector as mentioned, a good set of head phones, and a case would be my top picks. I have a soft sided case that I picked up for $7.99 that holds my PSP,7-14 games, and all my accessories. You definitely want a memory stick as well. I'd recommend 4GB as it's affordable and offers plenty of room for game saves, music, and videos. Only other thing you may want to consider as a necessity is a car charger and a USB cable for downloading content from your PC. You may be able to find the majority of these items bundled in a value or accessory pack from any retailer.
Hope this helps and congrats on your decision to get a PSP. You won't be disappointed.
