All I can say to you is to go out and buy the Sony brand.

plug your hdmi cable to ps3 and your tv. when its on(ps3), hold the power for about 20 seconds.when it turn off keep hold the power button till you a another beeps. then turn it on. it should work.
In the options tab for the PS3 have you changed the video output to hdmi?tsylord
yes i have and ive made sure that 1080p is not ticked since my tv doesnt support it
its nothing to do with the tv cuase i conected my blu ray player to the same hdmi port on the tv and it works finedeath-row19

I've had a similar problem before with my HDTV (Vizio)
I'd turn both the TV and the PS3 on but while I can clearly see the PS3 starting up, my TV gives me a blank black screen.
Pull the power plug on the TV (it's completely frozen...remote control and power button are ineffective) and plug it back in and voila! All fixed.
Happens roughly once every 5-6 months so I'm not terribly concerned. Not to mention I'm looking to upgrade from this budget TV set. :PÂ
